Two little peeves that version 2 does that I don't like.

1) If the front door doesn't open and only the back does, the Stop Requested sign on the screen stays on and doesn't reset. It only resets when the front door opens.

2) When the bus arrives at the stop and the doors open, the screen shows "This Stop" for 10 secs, then "Welcome Aboard" overrides.

Apparently the "Stop Requested" sign only shows if you press it when the screen says either "Welcome Aboard" or "Next Stop". If the bus was only at the stop for 5-6 secs and starts to pull out the stop with the sign still saying "This Stop", if you pull the cord before it shows that for 10secs, the "Stop Requested" sign will show, but then after the 10 second frame, "Welcome Aboard" will override the Stop Requested sign making it seem as if no one pressed it.

I agree. That’s kinda stupid considering they encourage riders to “exit through the rear door...”

On another note, they should replace the “Please Exit Through The Rear Door” announcement with a “Stop Requested” announcement.

I actually never thought about that and it sounds like a great idea. And yeah no one EVER obeyed that exit through the rear door, people get off through whatever door is closest to them. Or in their direction of walking towards.

And with all door boarding coming soon, everything will be a free for all. Yeah man "Stop Requested" is the perfect idea!

No screens installed on 7198 either.

I’m not sure how many Grand Avenue 2015 NFI XD40 units remain without screens, but my rides today on 7194 and 7198 felt somewhat nostalgic. I would assume most Grand Avenue 2015 XD40’s have screens installed at the time.

There's still a good amount at UP without screens as well. Which is why I stopped looking. Lack of consistency with some of these depots. Ulmer Park is garbage. I hate that depot so much its not even funny.

Actually, how about we go back to the pre Orion VII NG order and have just the chime instead.

Nope, not enough. Buses can be loud and with announcements and such it could be hard to hear. Only the Novas have a loud chime but the Xcelsiors and Orions are too low. Also, drivers tend to not hear it if they're thinking about something else.

I notice how sometimes the driver skips stops if the announcement isn’t played. I think having an announcement to signal a stop is good.

Exactly. At least hearing "Stop Requested" would trigger their ears better. Chimes can mix with all different sounds on the bus.

With the screens I noticed on board, 394 on the B11. When it comes to a stop waiting for passengers to board, if the STOP is pressed while loading, the regular "Please Exit through the door" voice is heard. But, when the doors close, the Vianova voice for the rear door can be heard.

I was on 7619 today on the B41-LIMITED and oddly enough the transfer announcement at  Joralemon Street/Court Street said Transfer Available to B41-LIMITED.

Yes, I know for certain I was on a limited 41. Not only it said so on the destination sign but the orange sign with “LIMITED” in purple letters was displayed by the front window.

188, 197, 199, 203, 210, 213, 215, 218, 221-223, 226, 527, 534, 537, 542, 557 version 2.

(I believe College Point's batch is complete but I'm not 100% sure yet because some buses might be OOS)

7450, 7476 version 2.

We're reaching the point in which some buses are becoming harder to find, or we simply just don't live in the vicinity of said buses and routes. I'd suggest waiting until you have at least 5 buses to report, to reduce the amount of pages being created in this thread. No point of posting a bus a day, just save your observations until the end of the week or post when you have a bunch.

This is especially true for the Brooklyn Division XD40s as I seem to run into less of them without screens.

Surprisingly, I took three Grand Avenue 2015 NFI Xcelsior XD40s without screens since the new year began.

The units were 7194, 7198, & 7241. I fear these units at Grand Avenue will be forgotten for a while since most buses at Grand Avenue Depot already have them installed....
