The ones on the MTA Bus C40LFs are spot on in terms of accuracy leaving and arriving at stops, refresh rates, announcing transfers and more. MTA cares so long as they are paying someone to install them and therefore footing labor costs lol

XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted January 22, 2019 Share #128 Posted January 22, 2019 (edited) I just actually realized XD60 6126 doesn't have the screens placed in the same positions due to the HVAC in the back. There's a screen right in front of the first pair of double forward seats when you walk up the steps in the back on the side opposite the doors. They really couldn't find another place to put the screens? For the XD60 model...I would personally put a half screen right behind the GPS box like the C40s have, and then one right over the middle door, and then another half screen on the left side on the gray panel of the back half of the articulated joint, with a beam holding it vertical and horizontal to the floor and window. Edit: can someone quickly PM me how to upload photos to a thread? Edited January 22, 2019 by XcelsiorBoii4888

As for the screens I'm not sure if this is possible either with the HVAC but maybe do a design similar with the LFSA?

As for the screens I'm not sure if this is possible either with the HVAC but maybe do a design similar with the LFSA? They can't because they would basically be positioning the screen for only the last 4-5 rows of the bus to see. Same thing with the front section. That's why they do the reverse/forward facing screens on Xcelsior models. The only model that would have it similar to the LFS/LFSA are the XN40s because they don't have that angular HVAC system in the front. That's why I prefer the MTA bus C40 model screen placement because that would work perfectly on Xcelsiors. The C40s should have the same positionings as LFS 8504. The LFSAs that are on the M15SBS and the ex Q44 SBS models are positioned perfectly, I haven't been the 2018 LFSAs at Gun Hill but looks like that third screen is a bit too far back and lined up along the rear steps. This makes the screens have to be tilted so people's head don't hit it. Edited January 22, 2019 by XcelsiorBoii4888

XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted January 25, 2019 Share #132 Posted January 25, 2019 8146 finally has transfer announcements 🙌🏾. Finally making progress with these screens, now if only the refresh rate can be improved I'm set.
XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted January 26, 2019 Share #133 Posted January 26, 2019 Every 8000 I rode had the screens fully working with TRANSFERS😍. 8146, 8290, and 8161. Oh I'm so happy because it looks OFFICIAL and all pronunciation of bus routes are correct. Only kinks they need to fix now are stops with abbreviations like MT=Mount, CEM=Cemetery, and APTS=Apartments

XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted January 26, 2019 Share #140 Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) 362 and 5264 both have version 2 screens. 6128 has version 3 as well unfortunately so I'm guessing that whole batch will have clever devices. Well its for SBS service so it shouldn't be too bad with refresh rates. Side note: Why are they putting screens on the NGs? Put them on the 2015 New Flyer XD40s...I still think anything from that 2014-2016 batch of XD40s and LFSs should have the USB ports and screens since they were literally LARGE orders right before the whole new scheme announcement. Well they're up for repaints this year so lets see what happens. Edited January 26, 2019 by XcelsiorBoii4888
