2016 Novabus LFSA Smartbus #5439

The 2016 Novabus LFS Articulated Smartbus #5439 made its debut back in January 2017. The bus was assigned to the Kingsbridge Bus depot and operated on the Bx1/LTD, Bx2, Bx9, Bx15 (local-weekdays only), and Bx39 bus routes. This bus was in the traditional blue and white scheme. In this video, we will experience #5439 in both the old (blue and white scheme) and the new (blue and gold streaks with the “I LOVE NY” logos on the sides). Another feature this bus has is the WiFi and USB charging ports. It was also the initial (original) start of the 92 bus order of the LFS Artic. This is also the very last bus to have the traditional blue and white scheme before being pulled from service back in May or June 2017.

5439 has made its epic return from Novabus as of October 2018. This bus and the rest of the original 92 bus order all has the new blue and gold streak scheme with the “I LOVE NY” logos on the side. All buses are currently commissioned to +SelectBus duty. 5439 is now at the Michael J. Quill bus depot, now operating on +SBS M23, M34/A, M79, and M86. This unit also has the MTA New York City Bus decal, similar to the ones that we see on some 2018 XD40s and XN60s. Soon, we will look at the 2019 Nova LFS Artics Smartbuses (72 bus order) that’s on the SBS Bx12,Bx41 for Gun Hill as well for the Train Shuttle Bus at Michael J. Quill bus depot.
