Spring 2019 Bus Schedule Changes (Page 223-228)

I don't understand why they aren't adding more service to the B82 for the L train shutdown? It provides a direct connection to the B train unlike the b6. Thats just my opinion and concern. Also to add the B39 will be discontinued until after the shutdown.

The B32 is in need of a service increase. Do you know if the B32 service increase is permanent or only for the shutdown?

Also, would the M14 be cut overnights due to the L14?

Maybe those folks seek the Eastern Parkway lines more than they do the Canarsie line...

The Brighton line is far and out of the way from Canarsie.

Maybe if they had a shuttle bus from Rockaway Parkway to Sheephead Bay bus via Belt Parkway would be more tolerable.. but buses are banned from portions of the Belt sadly

The thing is they’re adding service to the B6 for the shutdown. The b6 and B82 serve the same neighborhoods and run together on both ends of thier routes. The difference is that the 82 has a direct connection to the B train at kings hwy. the B is a 6th Avenue line that runs express.

The B39 is getting discontinued? Why?

I don’t know. I guess for the shutdown only. Wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to redo the route itself to have better ridership on it.

Also some (L) shuttle routes would being using the Williamsburg Bridge so it'll make little sense to keep the B39 if the shuttle routes cover the entire B39 plus more already.

In the past, when train service was suspended due to track work or other constructions the shuttle bus used to be free. In the PDF document, it says this:

Quote

These bus routes will operate as Select Bus Service routes with the off-board fare payment system. The L5 Limited route will not be SBS and fare payment will be on-board the buses.

If you have a metrocard, it is a free transfer from the subway to bus so it is not problem swiping the card again. I guess the days of just hoping on the shuttle bus if you are in the area for free is now gone

For the Q27 changes, they're not specifying it's more than likely between Flushing and QCC.

But it’s different this time. They’re shutting down a main line from one bourough to the next for an entire year. That’s going to be money lost if they don’t charge for those shuttle buses. If this was just weekend work yeah they couldn’t charge but this is 24/7.

Where did you read that B6 service would be increased for the shutdown? I couldn't find any info on that in the pdf or anywhere.
