A Former New Yorker Posted March 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2019 I know that there substitutes for when a portion or the entire subway line is closed but how exactly are they run. There's no mention of them on RealTime and good amount of buses just go OOS when there tons of people getting cramped into the first 2 or so buses. Not your favorite Posted March 28, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 28, 2019 Shuttles are run by the SLD (Surface Line Dispatcher) they set the headway between buses. If you were to watch then dispatch you would notice they are using pen and paper. SLD's on regular street post on assignment have tablets.
