OIG119 Posted April 1, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2019 I never noticed that the route sign on the side of the R142s and R142As were slightly different.

Yup, the R142s have a dot-matrix style LCD for the route, whereas the R142As have a mosaic LCD, like the letters for the destination. In addition, the R142's signs blink off while cycling through the program, while the R142A's signs just change directly from one part to another. Calvin Posted April 3, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 3, 2019 It was nice to see tech trains on the Local line of Lexington Av IMO. Also, to the R142 and R142A difference, the R142s are loud when they're sitting at the terminal waiting to depart the station. Speaking of tech trains on the local , there are two more weekends of this month to be in-use on this line.
