I feel like the (MTA) is just using artics as an excuse to cut service. Service shouldn't be sliced in half because they have bigger buses. Ridiculous😒

That's all it is & that's all that it's been.... Ridiculous is right.

I never really understood why the MTA slashes headways on routes once they're converted to artic operations. The point of adding artics is to increase total passenger capacity on the route. Adding artics and then slashing service brings you back to square one.

Not in terms of operating costs.....

Artics are also used as a means of lessening the amount of manpower & resources necessary to have operate along some particular route....

Usually, they're not this severe (the number of buses is reduced, but not like this, which leads me to believe that there's something more to it).

If I'm being honest, I wouldn't be surprised if part of the issue for the Bx36 receiving such steep cuts has to do with the Bx6.

Keep in mind that the local wasn't exactly being considered for articulated buses when the Bx36 was. (By contrast, SBS was always supposed to use artics.)

Except if you're the S79 or B46.

But if you want to split it by it's official Depot and not trippers and fill-ins it'll be like this.
