June 30, 2019 Bus Route & Service Changes

Here are the service changes that will go into effect on Sunday, except for SI routes. I was unable to review SI routes because of the MTA decided to go all apeshit on the amount of summer changes, and I pretty much got fed up after Manhattan and Queens. Not only did the amount of routes on summer schedules increase, but the amount of changes/messing around has also increase (just compare the amount of changes below to that of last year). Not only that, but the MTA decided to release these later than usual, without any warning that they were on the new website only. Anyways, here the changes the boroughs I reviewed:

The Bronx

Bx1: Summer Service Reductions, LIMITED Service Reduced

  • Early AM service will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 6-10 minutes.
  • LIMITED service will start later: at 6:18 AM instead of 5:52 AM (from Riverdale) & at 7:00 AM instead of 6:50 AM (from Mott Haven).
  • Service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes during midday hours on weekdays.
  • Service will operate every 10 minutes during the PM peak shoulder instead of every 8 minutes.
  • Northbound LIMITED service will end earlier- at 7:33 PM instead of 7:54 PM.

Bx2: Summer Service Reductions, Additional AM service from Riverdale

  • Two buses between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM will originate at W 231 Street & Riverdale Avenue instead of at Fort Independence Avenue.
  • Service will operate every 8-9 minutes instead of every 7-8 minutes during the AM rush.
  • Service will operate every 7 minutes during middays instead of every 8-9 minutes.
  • Service will operate every 10 minutes during the PM peak instead of every 9 minutes.

Bx5: Summer Service Reductions

  • All WB service before 7:20 AM will originate in Pelham Bay.
  • Service east of White Plains Road will operate every 6-12 minutes instead of every 10-20 minutes.
  • Frequency West of White Plains Road will operate every 4-7 minutes instead of every 3-5 minutes during the height of the AM peak.
  • Service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 9 minutes during the PM peak Shoulder.
  • Buses will operate every 14-20 minutes during middays instead of every 20-24 minutes east of White Plains Road.
  • Service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 9 minutes during the early evening on weekdays.
  • Service during the afternoon on Saturdays will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 9 minutes.
  • The last bus from Bay Plaza on Saturdays will depart at 12:15 AM trip instead of 11:58 PM.
  • Saturday evening service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.
  • The last bus from Hunts Point on Saturdays will depart at 1:12 AM instead of 12:50 AM.
  • Sunday evening service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

Bx12 Local: Summer Service Increases, Through Service to/from Orchard Begins

  • Service will operate every 10 minutes throughout the day on weekdays (instead of every 12 minutes during middays and evenings).
  • The first local bus from Bay Plaza will depart at 9:21 PM instead of at 10:15 PM (Weekdays), and at 8:24 PM instead of 10:00 PM (Saturdays), Increase over last summer.
  • Local Service will operate every 12 minutes during evenings instead of every 15 minutes.
  • The first bus from Inwood will departs at 10:29 PM instead of at 10:55 PM (Weekdays).
  • Weekend service will operate every 3-6 minutes instead of every 12-15 minutes during the day.
  • Certain late AM, midday, afternoon, and early evening trips on weekends will be extended to Inwood.

Bx12 SBS: Summer Service In Effect

  • A new 5:00 AM trip from Edson Avenue & Bartow Avenue will be added (weekdays).
  • A new 5:50 AM trip from Inwood has been added (Weekdays).
  • Service will operate every 4-5 minutes instead of every 6 minutes during most of the midday period.
  • Service will operate every 7-8 minutes instead of every 6 minutes during the evening period.
  • The last trip from Bay Plaza on weekdays will now depart at 9:50 PM instead of 10:00 PM.
  • Service in the early AM between Bay Plaza and Pelham Bay will operate every 13-33 minutes instead of every 6-8 minutes (Saturdays).
  • First trip from Bay Plaza on Saturdays will depart at 6:11 AM instead of 6:00 AM.
  • The last trip from Bay Plaza on weekdays will now depart at 10:12 PM instead of 10:25 PM.
  • The first Saturday departure from Inwood at 6:45 AM will be discontinued (first departure now at 7:00 AM).
  • Service from Pelham Bay to Bay Plaza on Saturdays in the early morning will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.
  • Service in the AM and PM on Saturdays from Inwood to Bay Plaza will operate every 4-6 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • Service during midday hours on Saturdays will operate every 5 minutes instead of every 7 minutes.
  • The last Sunday trip from Bay Plaza to Inwood will be at 10:30 PM instead of 10:00 PM
  • The last Sunday trip from Inwood will be at 11:25 PM instead of 10:55 PM (Sundays).

Bx22: Summer Service Reduction

  • Service during the rush hour will operate every 8 minutes instead of every 6-7 minutes (frequencies double north of Fordham Road in the AM rush).

Bx29: Weekday Service Decreases, Weekend Service Increases

  • Weekday service from 5:40 AM to 6:40 AM will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.
  • Two trips from City Island to Pelham Bay will be added at 12:15 AM and 12:49 AM on Friday nights.
  • Two trips from Bay Plaza to City Island will be added at 11:51 PM and 12:22 AM on Friday nights.
  • Evening service on Saturdays will operate every 20 minutes throughout instead of every 30 minutes.

Bx40,Bx42: Weekday Summer Service Reductions

  • Combined Midday service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes (frequencies double for individual routes).
  • Combined late PM rush service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 9 minutes (frequencies double for individual routes).

 

Brooklyn:

B1: Summer Service Reductions

  • The Weekday 6:08 AM & 7:03 AM trips from KCC to Bay Ridge will now originate at 86 Street & 25 Avenue at 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM, respectively.
  • AM rush service will operate every 8-10 minutes instead of every 6-8 minutes.
  • Additional short-turns between KCC and Brighton Beach will be added during the midday and evening periods
  • Most PM short-turns between KCC and Brighton Beach will be discontinued.
  • Late evening service will operate every 5 minutes east of Brighton Beach & every 15 minutes west of Brighton Beach in the WB direction, instead of every 10 minutes.
  • EB service will operate every 12 minutes during early evening hours, instead of every 10 minutes.

B3: Cost Neutral Practices

  • EB AM rush hour service will operate every 6 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
  • EB PM rush hour service will operate every 9 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.

B4: Additional Evening Service on Saturdays

  • Service will operate every 20-27 minutes instead of every 25-30 minutes. 

B6 Local: Weekday Service Reductions

  • Early AM service will operate less frequent
  • Midday service operates every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Early PM service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
  • Evening service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.

B6 LIMITED: Service Reductions

  • Service will every 6-10 minutes in the AM rush instead of every 3-9 minutes.
  • Service east of Canarise in the westbound direction will operate every 6 minutes during the AM rush instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Late PM service will operate every 6 minutes instead of every 5 minutes.

B7: Trip Combinations and Service Reductions

  • The 6:08 AM trip from Kings Hwy/Flatbush Ave & the 6:13 AM trip from Coney Island Avenue (arriving Flatbush Ave at 6:26 AM) will be consolidated into a 6:04 AM trip from Coney Island Avenue, arriving Flatbush Avenue at 6:14 AM.
  • Service in the early AM will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.
  • AM rush service will operate every 12-15 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Early midday service will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.
  • PM rush service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.

B9: Summer Service In Effect

  • EB service will operate every 7 minutes instead of every 10 minutes throughout the route, instead of every 5 minutes east of 5th Ave/10 minutes west of 5th Ave.
  • WB service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 12-15 minutes during early evening hours.

B16: Summer Service In Effect

  • All Weekday Short-turns will not operate.
  • Service will operate every 15 minutes during the AM rush and most of the PM rush instead of every 10-12 minutes.
  • SB service will operate every 12 minutes  from 4-5 PM instead of every 15 minutes.

B38: Overnight Trip Time Changes

  • Overnight service will depart Ridgewood at :25 instead of :20, every hour.
  • Overnight service will depart Downtown Brooklyn at :06 instead of :35, every hour.

B41 Local: Weekday Service Adjustments

  • The 3:47 AM trip from Bergen Beach and the 4:04 AM trip from Kings Plaza will depart their terminals 11 minutes later, at 3:58 AM and 4:15 AM, respectively.
  • AM rush service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
  • During the height of the rush hour, additional service will be provided between Kings Highway and Empire Boulevard.
  • Midday service will operate every 8 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes.

B41 LIMITED: Weekday AM Trip Combinations and Service Reductions, PM Service Increases

  • The 7:13 AM trip from Kings Plaza to Empire Boulevard & the 7:21 AM trip from Kings Plaza to Downtown have been consolidated into a 7:17 AM bus running to Empire Boulevard.
  • The 7:27 AM and 7:35 AM trips from Bergen Beach to Downtown Brooklyn will be consolidated into a 7:30 AM bus running only up to Empire Boulevard.
  • The 7:44 AM and 7:52 AM trips from Kings Plaza to Downtown Brooklyn will be consolidated into a 7:49 AM trip.
  • AM peak service on the combined portion will operate every 5-6 minutes instead of every 4 minutes south of Empire Boulevard (with more uneven service north of Empire Blvd).
  • AM peak service to Bergen Beach will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.
  • NB PM and evening service will operate every 8 minutes (instead of every 10-14 minutes).

B44 Local: Summer Service Adjustments, Addition of an Evening Trip

  • AM service will operate every 7-8 minutes north of Avenue U instead of every 6-7 minutes (frequencies double south of Avenue U).
  • Midday service will operate every 9 minutes instead of every 10 minutes in the NB direction (frequencies double south of Avenue U).
  • PM shoulder and PM rush service will operate every 9 minutes instead of every 10 minutes in the SB direction (frequencies double south of Avenue X).
  • All Fulton Street put-ins will be discontinued.
  • An 11:05 PM trip from Emmons Ave & Nostrand Ave to Williamsburg Bridge Plaza will be added.

B44 SBS: Service Reductions

  • Early AM service will operate less frequent.
  • AM rush service between Avenue U and Flushing Avenue will operate every 6-9 minutes instead of every 5-10 minutes (service doubles north and south of those points).
  • AM peak service between Knapp Street & Avenue X will operate every 6-9 minutes instead of every 10-20 minutes.
  • Less frequent service in the evening.

B49: Service Reductions

  • Midday service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • Late PM rush service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.
  • Weekday Evening service will operate every 25-27 minutes instead of every 15-22 minutes.
  • The 6:44 AM and 7:24 AM buses on Saturdays from Foster Ave & Rodgers Ave towards Fulton Street will be discontinued.
  • Two new trips from Foster Avenue & Rodgers Avenue on Saturdays (towards Fulton Street) will be added at 5:14 AM and 10:16 AM.
  • The 8:35 AM and 8:59 AM buses on Sundays from Foster Ave & Rodgers Ave towards Fulton Street will be discontinued.
  • Two new trips from Foster Avenue & Rodgers Avenue on Saturdays (towards Fulton Street) will be added at 7:41 AM.

B49 LIMITED: Service Reduction

  • The 6:38 AM, 6:46 AM, and 6:54 AM buses will not operate.
  • The 7:03 AM bus from Empire Boulevard will depart at 7:00 AM.
  • Service between 7 and 8 AM will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.

B63: Weekday Cost Neutral Practices

  • There will be less frequent service from 7:50-8:30 AM & 4-5 PM in the northbound direction.
  • Service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes from 5-6 PM in the northbound direction.
  • Service from 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 12 minutes in the southbound direction

BM2: Minor Adjustments to Downtown Service

  • Downtown buses will now depart 3-5 minutes earlier from Spring Creek.

BM3: Saturday Adjustments

  • Buses on the inbound direction will pick-up in Brooklyn up to 16 minutes later than the current schedule.
  • Up to 15 minutes additional time has been allotted for Inbound trips.
  • Buses on the outbound direction will pick-up in Manhattan up to 15 minutes later than the current schedule.
  • Up to 38 minutes additional time has been allotted for outbound trips.

 

Manhattan

M1 Local: Net Service Reductions, Increased Span to SoHo

  • AM rush service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.
  • Service from 9-11 AM will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 12-15 minutes.
  • Late midday service in the northbound direction will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • PM rush service will operate every 8-20 minutes SB instead of every 5-15 minutes.
  • Evening service will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes start from 9 PM SB/10:35 PM NB.
  • The 6:05 AM bus from the East Village will begin in SoHo at 6:00 AM.
  • The 7:00 PM bus from Harlem to the East Village will be extended to SoHo.

M1 LIMITED: Service Reductions

  • Service will operate less frequent (-2 buses in the AM, -1 bus in the PM)

M2: Cost Neutral Practices

  • LTD service operates less frequent in the PM rush.
  • Early midday service in the northbound direction will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.
  • NB service from 7:35-8:20 PM operates every 10 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.
  • Evening service operates every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

M3: Weekday Net Service Reductions, Service Span Increases/Decreases, Sunday Adjustments 

  • A 5:50 AM trip from 125th Street to the East Village will be added.
  • Late AM rush service operates every 10 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.
  • Early midday service and late PM rush service operates every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Late evening service south of 125th Street operates every 34-37 minutes instead of every 30 minutes.
  • The last bus operating south of 125th Street departs at 11:02 PM instead of at 11:19 PM (from St. Nich & 125th).
  • The last SB bus will now depart Fort George at 1:10 AM instead of 1:26 AM.
  • The last bus from the East Village will now depart at 12:30 AM (instead of 12:00 AM), running to 125th Street.
  • (Sundays) More frequent service in the AM
  • (Sundays) The last bus from Fort George will now depart at 12:55 AM instead of at 1:04 AM.

M4 Local: Weekday Trip Combinations, Cost Neutral Practices, Increase in Service in Upper Manhattan

  • The 6:28 AM trip from Central Park North to Midtown will now originate in Washington Heights at 5:45 AM.
  • The 6:02 AM and 6:09 AM trips from Washington Heights will be consolidated into a 6:05 AM trip.
  • Service in the early AM, late AM rush, and midday hours will operate less frequent
  • Evening service between Washington Heights and Manhattanville will operate every 5-7 minutes during the evening instead of every 8-10 minutes.

M4 LIMITED: Service Reductions

  • Service will operate less frequent (-1 bus in the AM, -1 bus in the PM).

M7: Weekday Service Reductions, Service Extended to 14th Street

  • AM rush hour service will operate every 10-15 minutes instead of every 8-12 minutes.
  • Less frequent midday service will be provided.
  • PM service will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • Early evening service operates every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes in the SB direction.
  • Service south of 18 Street (previously discontinued due to construction) will be reinstated (not shown on timetable).

M14A/M14D: Introduction of +SBS+ Service, M14A Late Night Branch Discontinued

  • Buses will be converted into SBS operations, with all-door boarding.
  • M14A overnight buses will no longer serve Chelsea Piers, all service will terminate at Abingdon Square at all times.
  • Redistribution of late night M14A service will occur so combined service on 14th Street is an even 10 minutes throughout the night.

M31: Elimination of Trip on Saturdays

  • The 9:36 PM trip from Clinton to Yorkville will be discontinued. Alternatives are either the 9:28 PM trip or 9:51 PM trip.

M55: Weekday Service Reductions

  • AM rush service operates every 20-30 minutes instead of every 15-20 minutes.
  • Midday and early evening service operates every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.
  • Late evening service will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.

M101 Local: Weekday Trip Truncations, Service Reductions, and Service Span Increase

  • The 5:02 AM trip from 125th Street & Lexington Avenue to the East Village will now originate at 100th Street & Lexington Avenue at 5:07 AM.
  • Service between 125th Street & 100th Street will run approximately every 20 minutes instead of approximately every 10-12 minutes between 5:30 AM and 6 AM
  • The 5:37 AM trip from Fort George towards the East Village will become a LIMITED trip (see below)
  • The former 5:47 AM LIMITED trip from Fort George to the East Village will become two local trips: a 5:51 AM trip from Fort George, and a 6:44 AM trip from 100th Street
  • An 8:28 PM trip from Fort George to the East Village will be added (former LIMITED trip). 
  • Service south of 96th Street towards the East Village after 10 PM will operate every 18-27 minutes instead of every 10-20 minutes.
  • The 4:51 AM and 7:06 AM trips from the East Village towards Fort George will now begin at 97th Street at 5:08 AM and 7:51 AM, respectively
  • New put-ins from 97th Street to Fort George will be added at 8:08 AM, 8:33 AM, and 9:07 AM.
  • Two new short-turns will be placed from the East Village to 97th Street at 7:54 PM and 8:21 PM.
  • All local bus service departing the East Village between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM will be converted into LIMITED trips.

M101 LIMITED: Weekday Net Trip Eliminations, Service Reductions

  • A new 5:41 AM trip has been added.
  • Late AM rush service will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 5 minutes north of 96th Street, and every 10 minutes south of 96th Street.
  • PM service will operate approximately every 8-9 minutes instead of every 6-8 minutes.
  • Additional service in the NB direction will be added from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM

M102: Weekday Service Reductions, Overnight Service Changes

  • Service during the AM rush operates every 10-15 minutes instead of every 8-12 minutes.
  • SB service during the late PM rush will operate every 15 minutes north of 96th Street instead of every 7.5 minutes.
  • Evening service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Overnight service after the 1:12 AM departure from the East Village will depart at :02 instead of :12.
  • Late evening service will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes in the NB direction.

M103: Weekday AM and Midday Reductions, Net Increase in PM Service

  • The 4:20 AM and 4:40 AM trips from East Harlem towards City Hall have been consolidated into a 4:34 AM trip.
  • A 4:53 AM from East Harlem to City Hall will be added.
  • The 5:03 AM and 5:15 AM trips from East Harlem toward City Hall have been consolidated into a 5:09 AM trip.
  • Slightly less midday and PM shoulder service.
  • Service operates every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes during the PM rush.
  • Service between 9-10 PM in the NB direction will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

M116: Weekday AM Trip Consolidation

  • The 7:27 AM and 7:32 AM trips from the Upper West Side have been consolidated into a 7:30 AM trip.

 

Queens

Q3: Overnight Service Improvements, Summer Service Reductions

  • Buses will operate every 30 minutes overnight, departing Jamaica & JFK at :10 and :40, instead of operating on a 35 minute headway, daily.
  • Less frequent AM rush service will operate on weekdays.
  • All put-ins from 179 Street (F) will not operate.

Q5 Local: Weekday Summer Service Reductions

  • AM service from 4:00 AM to 5:30 AM will run approximately every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.
  • AM service from 8-9 AM will run every 10 minutes instead of every 7-8 minutes.
  • Combined Midday and early PM rush service will run every 8-10 minutes instead of every 7-8 minutes.
  • PM peak service will operate every 7-8 minutes instead of approximately every 3-5 minutes.
  • Weekday overnight trips will operate up to 5 minutes than current times.

Q5 LIMITED: Summer Service Reductions

  • Service from 5:58 AM to 6:36 AM will operate approximately every 10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
  • Service from 7:00 AM to 8:43 AM will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • Service during the height of the PM rush will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 7 minutes.
  • The last bus from Jamaica will depart at 8:03 PM instead of 8:43 PM.

Q7: Weekend Trip Adjustments

  • The 4:22 AM bus on Saturdays from Euclid Avenue (A)(C) Station will now depart at 4:16 AM.
  • Trip times have changed/elongated by up to 10 minutes. 

Q20: Weekday Service Reductions, 14th Avenue Branch Span Reduction

  • Combined AM rush service operates every 7-10 minutes instead of every 6-7 minutes (frequencies on each branch are doubled).
  • Combined PM rush service operates every 9-10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes (frequencies on each branch are doubled).
  • The last Q20B from College Point to Jamaica will depart at 10:05 PM, instead of at 10:35 PM.
  • The 10:35 PM Q20B trip from College Point will be converted into a Q20A.

Q26: Cost Neutral Practices

  • A new 5:10 AM trip from Fresh Meadows to Flushing will be added.
  • Service from 7:20 AM to 8:14 AM will operate approximately every 10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
  • The 9:06 AM trip from Fresh Meadows to Flushing will be discontinued.
  • The 3:20 PM trip from Flushing will now depart at 3:10 PM.
  • Service from 4-5 PM will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

Q27: Weekday and Saturday Reductions, Sunday Service Improvements

  • Service towards Flushing will operate every 10 minutes from 4:00-4:30 AM instead of every 15 minutes.
  • AM peak service will operate every 6-7 minutes throughout the route instead of every 3-5 minutes north of Horace Harding Expressway (and slightly less frequent service south).
  • Midday service south of Jamaica Avenue will operate every 6 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.
  • PM peak service operates every 6 minutes north of Horace Harding Expwy (every 12 minutes south) instead of every 5 minutes ( & every 10 minutes south of HHE).
  • Early evening service operates every 12 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
  • Reverse-peak service in the early AM hours will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 7.5 minutes.
  • Saturday service between 9:20 PM and 10:58 PM towards Flushing will operate every 12 minutes throughout the route, instead of every 10 minutes north of Jamaica Ave (and every 20 minutes south)
  • The 11:19 PM trip from Jamaica Avenue to Flushing will be discontinued. Alternatives are either the 11:09 PM and 11:29 PM departures.
  • Evening service from Flushing will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 9 minutes.
  • NB evening service south of Jamaica Avenue on Sundays will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.

Q28: Weekday AM Service Adjustments, Reductions

  • Trips between 4:12 AM and 6:00 AM towards Flushing have been adjusted to operate up to 22 minutes earlier.
  • Buses in the AM reverse-peak direction approximately every 4-6 minutes instead of every 2-4 minutes.

Q30: Weekday Service Reductions

  • There will be less frequent service from 7-8 AM.
  • Midday service will operate every 9 minutes instead of every 7.5 minutes.
  • Early evening service will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 9-10 minutes.

Q31: Weekday Summer Service Reductions

  • Service operates every 15 minutes during the height of the AM rush and during the PM rush, instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Evening service will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.

Q43 Local: Summer Service Reductions

  • Overnight trips will depart terminals up to 5 minutes earlier than the current schedule.
  • Less frequent service during the early AM on weekdays will operate.
  • Local service will resume earlier in the morning, at 8:41 AM instead of 9:00 AM.

Don't you mean, "A new 9:06 AM trip from Fresh Meadows to Flushing will be added"?  That trip wasn't there before and it is now (just like the 5:10AM trip).

Thorough analysis that's nothing short of amazing.

The biggest thing that sticks out to me is how the vast majority of these changes are not part of the list provided in the May Committee book -- summary page 203, charts after Staff Summary on pages 207/208. Now, those changes were limited to headway changes on the B63, M1, M2, M3, M4, M7 and M55 weekdays and B4 Saturdays; only trip adjustments for the B3 and B74 weekdays, B24 Saturdays, and B11 and S51 Sundays; and (in the fine-print) run-time changes for B35/LTD and Bx46 weekdays, B35/LTD, M1, M2, M3, M4, M12 Saturdays, and B35/LTD, M1, M2, M3, M4, M12, Q46 and Q85 Sundays.

It always ran overnight, but the overnight trips followed the "D" branch to Chelsea Piers. Now they go to Abingdon Square along with the daytime "A" trips.

  • Evening service from Flushing will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 9 minutes.

Q28: Weekday AM Service Adjustments, Reductions

  • Trips between 4:12 AM and 6:00 AM towards Flushing have been adjusted to operate up to 22 minutes earlier.
  • Buses in the AM reverse-peak direction approximately every 4-6 minutes instead of every 2-4 minutes.

Q30: Weekday Service Reductions

  • There will be less frequent service from 7-8 AM.
  • Midday service will operate every 9 minutes instead of every 7.5 minutes.
  • Early evening service will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 9-10 minutes.

Q31: Weekday Summer Service Reductions

  • Service operates every 15 minutes during the height of the AM rush and during the PM rush, instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Evening service will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.

Q43 Local: Summer Service Reductions

  • Overnight trips will depart terminals up to 5 minutes earlier than the current schedule.
  • Less frequent service during the early AM on weekdays will operate.
  • Local service will resume earlier in the morning, at 8:41 AM instead of 9:00 AM.
  • Service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 9 minutes during the late midday and early PM rush hour.

Q43 LIMITED: Summer Service Reductions

  • Service between 5:54 AM and 6:46 AM operates every 7-8 minutes instead of every 3-5 minutes.
  • The last bus in the morning to Jamaica LIRR will depart Floral Park at 8:37 AM instead of 8:55 AM.
  • The 4:02 PM trip from Jamaica will not operate. The alternative is the 4:07 PM trip from Jamaica.
  • Service from 6-7 PM will operate every 6-7 minutes instead of every 4-5 minutes.

Q44 SBS: Net Addition of Short-turns on Weekdays

  • Less frequent service south of Flushing from 3:30 AM to 4:30 AM.
  • Trips from 39th Avenue to Bronx Zoo will be added at  5:45 AM, 6:09 AM, 6:50 AM, 1:41 PM, and 2:11 PM.
  • Trips from Jamaica to 39th Avenue will be added at 6:27 AM, 9:26 AM, and 9:46 AM.
  • The 5:57 AM trip from Whitestone to Jamaica will be discontinued. Alternatives are the 5:49 AM or 6:06 AM departures.

Q46 Local: Weekday Reduction in Service

  • Service operates every 10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM (frequencies double on the branches).
  • AM peak service will operate every 9 minutes instead of every 5-6 minutes from 6:00-6:45 AM.
  • Reverse peak service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
  • Service will operate every 6 minutes instead of every 5 minutes during the height of the rush hour.
  • Service will operate every 6-7 minutes instead of every 5 minutes during the PM rush.
  • WB service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes during evening hours.
  • WB service will operate every 20 minutes during the late evening hours instead of every 15 minutes.
  • An LIJ trip during the evening will instead originate in Glen Oaks at 10:23 PM, towards Kew Gardens.

Q46 LIMITED: Cost Neural Practices

  • Service will operate every 5-6 minutes during the early AM rush instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • Service will operate every 7 minutes instead of every 4 minutes during the height of the AM rush.
  • Two later AM trips to Lake Success will be added at 9:43 AM and 9:58 AM.

  • Service will operate every 7 minutes during middays instead of every 8-9 minutes.
  • Service will operate every 10 minutes during the PM peak instead of every 9 minutes.

  • All WB service before 7:20 AM will originate in Pelham Bay.
  • Service east of White Plains Road will operate every 6-12 minutes instead of every 10-20 minutes.

  • Service will operate every 4-5 minutes instead of every 6 minutes during most of the midday period.
  • Service will operate every 7-8 minutes instead of every 6 minutes during the evening period.
  • The last trip from Bay Plaza on weekdays will now depart at 9:50 PM instead of 10:00 PM.
  • Service in the early AM between Bay Plaza and Pelham Bay will operate every 13-33 minutes instead of every 6-8 minutes (Saturdays).

  • Combined Midday service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes (frequencies double for individual routes).
  • Combined late PM rush service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 9 minutes (frequencies double for individual routes).

 

Manhattan

M1 Local: Net Service Reductions, Increased Span to SoHo

  • AM rush service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.
  • Service from 9-11 AM will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 12-15 minutes.
  • Late midday service in the northbound direction will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • PM rush service will operate every 8-20 minutes SB instead of every 5-15 minutes.
  • Evening service will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes start from 9 PM SB/10:35 PM NB.
  • The 6:05 AM bus from the East Village will begin in SoHo at 6:00 AM.
  • The 7:00 PM bus from Harlem to the East Village will be extended to SoHo.

M1 LIMITED: Service Reductions

  • Service will operate less frequent (-2 buses in the AM, -1 bus in the PM)

M2: Cost Neutral Practices

  • LTD service operates less frequent in the PM rush.

  • Evening service between Washington Heights and Manhattanville will operate every 5-7 minutes during the evening instead of every 8-10 minutes.

M4 LIMITED: Service Reductions

  • Service will operate less frequent (-1 bus in the AM, -1 bus in the PM).

M7: Weekday Service Reductions, Service Extended to 14th Street

  • AM rush hour service will operate every 10-15 minutes instead of every 8-12 minutes.
  • Less frequent midday service will be provided.
  • PM service will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
  • Early evening service operates every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes in the SB direction.
  • Service south of 18 Street (previously discontinued due to construction) will be reinstated (not shown on timetable).

M14A/M14D: Introduction of +SBS+ Service, M14A Late Night Branch Discontinued

  • Buses will be converted into SBS operations, with all-door boarding.
  • M14A overnight buses will no longer serve Chelsea Piers, all service will terminate at Abingdon Square at all times.
  • Redistribution of late night M14A service will occur so combined service on 14th Street is an even 10 minutes throughout the night.

M31: Elimination of Trip on Saturdays

  • The 9:36 PM trip from Clinton to Yorkville will be discontinued. Alternatives are either the 9:28 PM trip or 9:51 PM trip.

M55: Weekday Service Reductions

  • AM rush service operates every 20-30 minutes instead of every 15-20 minutes.
  • Midday and early evening service operates every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.
  • Late evening service will operate every 30 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.

M101 Local: Weekday Trip Truncations, Service Reductions, and Service Span Increase

  • The 5:02 AM trip from 125th Street & Lexington Avenue to the East Village will now originate at 100th Street & Lexington Avenue at 5:07 AM.
  • Service between 125th Street & 100th Street will run approximately every 20 minutes instead of approximately every 10-12 minutes between 5:30 AM and 6 AM
  • The 5:37 AM trip from Fort George towards the East Village will become a LIMITED trip (see below)
  • The former 5:47 AM LIMITED trip from Fort George to the East Village will become two local trips: a 5:51 AM trip from Fort George, and a 6:44 AM trip from 100th Street
  • An 8:28 PM trip from Fort George to the East Village will be added (former LIMITED trip). 
  • Service south of 96th Street towards the East Village after 10 PM will operate every 18-27 minutes instead of every 10-20 minutes.
  • The 4:51 AM and 7:06 AM trips from the East Village towards Fort George will now begin at 97th Street at 5:08 AM and 7:51 AM, respectively
  • New put-ins from 97th Street to Fort George will be added at 8:08 AM, 8:33 AM, and 9:07 AM.
  • Two new short-turns will be placed from the East Village to 97th Street at 7:54 PM and 8:21 PM.
  • All local bus service departing the East Village between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM will be converted into LIMITED trips.

M101 LIMITED: Weekday Net Trip Eliminations, Service Reductions

  • A new 5:41 AM trip has been added.
  • Late AM rush service will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 5 minutes north of 96th Street, and every 10 minutes south of 96th Street.
  • PM service will operate approximately every 8-9 minutes instead of every 6-8 minutes.
  • Additional service in the NB direction will be added from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM

M102: Weekday Service Reductions, Overnight Service Changes

  • Service during the AM rush operates every 10-15 minutes instead of every 8-12 minutes.
  • SB service during the late PM rush will operate every 15 minutes north of 96th Street instead of every 7.5 minutes.
  • Evening service will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.
  • Overnight service after the 1:12 AM departure from the East Village will depart at :02 instead of :12.
  • Late evening service will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes in the NB direction.

M103: Weekday AM and Midday Reductions, Net Increase in PM Service

  • The 4:20 AM and 4:40 AM trips from East Harlem towards City Hall have been consolidated into a 4:34 AM trip.
  • A 4:53 AM from East Harlem to City Hall will be added.
  • The 5:03 AM and 5:15 AM trips from East Harlem toward City Hall have been consolidated into a 5:09 AM trip.
  • Slightly less midday and PM shoulder service.
  • Service operates every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes during the PM rush.
  • Service between 9-10 PM in the NB direction will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

M116: Weekday AM Trip Consolidation

  • The 7:27 AM and 7:32 AM trips from the Upper West Side have been consolidated into a 7:30 AM trip.

That sounds more like something that would belong in the Fleets & Depots thread. This doesn't really cover internal things, rather just the physical (scheduled) service provided.

They're still there. I rode one yesterday and saw a few others.

 

Heading westbound, the short trips turn left on 3rd Avenue, right on 13th Street, right on 4th Avenue and drop off in the M1/M2/M3 stop, then turn right on 14th to deadhead back.

  • SB service from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 15-20 minutes.
  • SB service from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 15-20 minutes.
  • NB service from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.
  • NB service from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 12-15 minutes.
  • The SB 10:20 AM and 10:40 AM trips from St. George have been consolidated into a 10:30 AM trip.
  • NB service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 12 minutes.
  • NB service from 4:00 to 5:00 PM will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes.
  • Trips from St. George to Narrows Road South in Grasmere have been added at 4:53 PM, and 5:20 PM
  • The 5:12 PM & 6:15 PM trips from St. George to Oakwood Beach has been discontinued.
  • Tripfrom St. George to Oakwood Beach as been added at 6:00 PM and 9:03 PM.
  • The 6:30 PM and 6:50 PM trips to St. George have been consolidated into a 6:40 PM trip.
  • There are adjustments in NB runtimes by up to 4 minutes during evening hours.
  • The 6:27 PM trip from St. George to nowhere and the 6:30 PM trip from St. George to Oakwood Beach have been consolidated into a 6:30 PM trip to Oakwood Beach.
  • The 8:10 PM and 9:00 PM trips from St. George to Oakwood Beach have been truncated to Narrows Road South. 
  • The 8:11 PM bus from St. George to Grasmere will depart at 8:13 PM and is extended to Oakwood Beach.

S86 LIMITED: Trip Reductions and Span Decrease

  • The 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM trips (last bus) from St. George have been consolidated into a 6:15 PM trip.
