N6 Limited 945 #2 Posted August 13 Looks like eastern queens ridership is dropping. From what I gather, overall ridership is still dropping. However, the stations with increases tend to be tied to stations that were (partially)closed the prior year or are in areas with new developments (LIC, Downtown & 4th Ave Brooklyn, etc). Another casualty of the failing bus system... that being said though, I’m not surprised. Most new residents would prefer to pay a higher rent that move out to a semi -suburban part of Queens where you gotta wake up at an ungodly time just to spend an hour on the bus and then an hour on the train... I wonder how many of those riders are switching to either express bus or LIRR service.
