NEW RAILCAR ACCEPTANCE AND TESTING FACILITY, BROOKLYN
OVER $50M

This Design/Build project will construct a new facility in the 3rd Avenue area of 38th Street Yard in Brooklyn to accommodate a new railcar receiving operation.

Remove two existing yard tracks from the portal to their current endpoints and replace with new tracks, rails, ties and all other required fittings and equipment meeting NYCT standards.
Build a new foundation slab and footings that will support the installation of concrete or CMU exterior walls, roof administrative offices, workshops, tool rooms, storeroom, employee areas.
Bulld a new concrete floor of sufficient length, width and thickness to accommodate two flat tracks, one pitted track, side aisles (minimum 8 feet wide), and a center aisle (minimum 8 ft. and maximum 25 ft. wide).
Build a platform adjacent to the track nearest to the facility for inspection of diesel locomotives and other non-revenue railcars using diesel fuel.
lnstall all required HVAC supply and distribution equipment systems and AC power supply system, 2 hot water boilers, and a wet sprinkler system.

This Design/Build project is to increase circulation capacity at the Main Street Station on the Flushing Line.

Add additional platform stairs to the mezzanine.
Add street to mezzanine stairs to the NE, NW and SW corners of Main and Roosevelt.
Add an additional street entrance from the western most point of the mezzanine to midway between Main and Prince Streets.
Relocate several rooms at the mezzanine level as needed.

This Design/Build project to provide full ADA accessibility at the Westchester Square Station on the Pelham Line, and will also bring the station to a state of good repair.

Installation of three (3) Traction elevators.
Component work on street and interior stairs, mezzanine columns, main support beams, walls (interior and exterior), floor finishes, and platform work.
Modify platforms to reduce gaps.
Modify gates, agent booth windows, handrails, toilets for ADA compliance.
Provide Braille signage.
Duration of Contract 24 Months

This Design/Build project is to provide full accessibility at the Queensboro Plaza Station on the Flushing Line.

Provide vertical and travel route accessibility.
Modify platforms to reduce gaps and install tactile warning strips, modify gates, agent booth windows, handrails and stairs for ADA compliance.
Provide ticketing machines and AFAS units with two-way communication system, TTYs, PA/CIS system as well as other compliant communication elements as needed.
Provide signage (including Braille and tactile, and trailblazing and Boarding Area signage with ISA symbol), public toilets.

REPLACE 3 ESCALATORS AND FIRE ALARM SYSTEM: FLUSHING- MAIN STREET / FLUSHING**

This project will replace three escalators and the fire alarm system at Main Street-Flushing station in Queens.

Replace existing escalator controllers, status monitoring system, electrical panels, communications systems, CCTV system, smoke and fire detection system, etc.
Provide ethernet connection between status monitor and E&E Control Center.
Replace fire alarm system with new panel, sub surface conduit paths for new circuits and tie into control area, concession sprinkler waterflow and tamper switches.
Duration of Contract 34 Months

This project will replace five escalators at two stations in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan: Bowling Green (4,5) High Street @ Adams St (A/C) High Street @ Cadman Pl (A/C)

Replace existing escalator controllers, status monitoring system, electrical panels, communications systems, CCTV system, smoke and fire detection system, etc.
Provide ethernet connection between status monitor and E&E Control Center.

STATION RENEWAL AND TRACK/STRUCTURE SUPPORTING STEEL REPAIR - 61 STREET-WOODSIDE / FLUSHING

This Design/Build project will replace the thru-spans at 61st-Woodside Station on the Flushing Line and repair support beams and girders.

Remove and restore track, signals, etc.
Demolish track bed which is also mezzanine roof and demolish existing stringers and floor beams.
Repair bridge girders as required and restore mezzanine roof using direct fixation track.
Upgrade drainage to larger diameter pipe with accessible cleanouts and reroute canopy drainage away from track drains.
Temporarily relocate lighting and other utilities mounted to the mezzanine roof.

SANDY REPAIRS: ROCKAWAY LINE WRAP-UP**

This project will provide repairs along the Rockaway Line in Queens, to address damage resulting from Superstorm Sandy.

Structural repairs on the North Channel Bridge.
Cable replacement between Howard Beach Station and Hammels Wye.
Repairs of signals switches at various locations between Hamilton Beach and Rockaway Park Yard.
Asbestos removal.
Duration of Contract 26 Months

Long Island City Yard Restoration/Resiliency: Perimeter Flood Wall, Pumping Stations and Restoration of Tracks 11 and 12.

Build Flood Wall around the perimeter of the yard.
Install three pump stations/Two Generators.
Restore Track 11 and 12.

PENN STATION PLATFORM STAIRS (PLATFORM 11)

Refurbishment of existing LIRR staircases and Install New Ceiling on Platform Level in Penn Station New York.

Rehabilitation and improvement of the customer facilities mainly at the platform level of Penn Station. LIRR utilizes Tracks 13 thru 21 served by Platforms 7 thru 11.
Some structures on the platforms require suitable paint material; staircases are in need of repair, modernization, and replacement; and a new ceiling is needed to conceal pipes, cables, conduits, etc.
Due to continuing air handler failures and malfunctions in Penn Station, this project has exercised a design contract option for a conditional assessment to replace the existing units with new air handling units within the LIRR area of Penn Station.

GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL- TRASH HANDLING FACILITY

The purpose of this contract is to construct a unified trash handling facility to be employed jointly by Metro-North and Long Island Railroads, in support of the future LIRR ESA Concourse. This trash handling facility will be constructed on the existing platform adjacent to track 115 located on the Lower Level of Grand Central Terminal, next to the proposed LIRR Concourse service corridor, where Metro-North will load trash for both railroads onto railcars for transport and disposal. Scope of work includes:

Demolition.
Structure.
Track.
Ventilation.
Electrical.

Vanity Projects

LIRR/NYCT TO AIRTRAIN PORTAL IMPROVEMENTS AT JAMAICA
$1M - $5M

Contractor to execute construction of signage and wayfinding improvements to the existing LIRR and PANYNJ pedestrian/customer corridors to benefit customers transferring to/from the Port Authority of NY and NJ (PANYNJ) AirTrain by way of LIRR and NYCT. Work will also include select lighting and customer amenity improvements.

Fabricate & install new static signage along the paths of travel mentioned above.
Fabricate install new electronic signage displays / screens (dynamic and interactive) supplementary to those that currently exist throughout the aforementioned areas.
Lighting improvements / install new LED lights in select areas to improve the customer experience and provide better visibility to all signage / wayfinding elements.
Duration of Contract 12 Months
