Y2Julio Posted October 23, 2008 #1 Posted October 23, 2008 Anyone here downloaded this game yet? I'm liking it so far.
INDman Posted October 23, 2008 #2 Posted October 23, 2008 I got it when it first came out and I do like it. The only problem I have is that on my laptop it takes a while to load, but then I can get some work done while waiting. Another thing I'm not too happy about is that there are alot of stuck red signals especially round Hoboken when I try to go 33rd Street to Journal Square via Hoboken. This would not be such a problem if you could key by the signals sing most seem to automatics, but some times I get stuck at an interlocking and if you pass the signal it ends the game. I heard that there was a patch to fix this, but I downloaded it after the patch came out and this problem was supposed to be fixed. Now I just wish I had a nice and fast desk top so I could play this on high detail.
Y2Julio Posted October 23, 2008 Author #3 Posted October 23, 2008 I have it installed on my laptop and desktop. So far I'm liking it a lot. It runs decently on my laptop. I haven't tried it on my desktop yet. The only thing I don't like is how I have to do the conductors job on top of operating the train. Also I don't get the thing about turning off the lights when you are in side the station?
INDman Posted October 23, 2008 #4 Posted October 23, 2008 I think PATH used dim headlights in the tunnels and brights when out side. I'm not sure, but I think thats why you turn them off entering a station.
Y2Julio Posted October 23, 2008 Author #5 Posted October 23, 2008 Also, do you understand WTF the C/O is saying? Sounds like he is talking with his mouth covered.
mark1447 Posted October 23, 2008 #6 Posted October 23, 2008 DAMN i was gonna post this B) ~ thanks jul lol and yes I have found one, im doing the piracy way , found it on RS, gonna load to my website and submit to DDLs sorry cant post here , as no piracy allowed here , but maybe some shots, i guess
SubwayGuy Posted October 24, 2008 #8 Posted October 24, 2008 I tried it for the first time last weekend. It was very good and the detail is nice. There are a couple observations I have so far though that they need to fix.. When you coast with the train, you lose speed too fast, trains keep their momentum better. In the game "coasting" is a lot like min braking... Also some of the curves and switches are a bit extreme, taking a switch at 10-15 MPH in some areas "feels" almost like a roller coaster snaking left then right really fast. The C/R announcements are supposed to be muffled because it's funny... And lastly those stuck reds are kind of annoying, and you can't key by them, I teased my friend when he did that and he failed..."hey didn't know they built AK into these signals...nope wait they didn't! FAIL!!"
Y2Julio Posted October 24, 2008 Author #9 Posted October 24, 2008 I don't take the PATH that often but are the speed restrictions really that restrictive? 15MPH for a tunnel that is straight with no curves for a good stretch??
SubwayGuy Posted October 24, 2008 #10 Posted October 24, 2008 I don't take the PATH that often but are the speed restrictions really that restrictive? 15MPH for a tunnel that is straight with no curves for a good stretch?? No. The river tunnels in particular are faster than in the game. Also, there are timed signals that the game doesn't seem to be able to simulate, unless they add that feature in later
INDman Posted October 24, 2008 #11 Posted October 24, 2008 I wish they had timed signals, but it seems that they are very hard to replicate in games.
Luis1985 Posted October 25, 2008 #12 Posted October 25, 2008 from wat website can i download that game?

INDman Posted October 26, 2008 #15 Posted October 26, 2008 I don't have any site. The only way to get it is to go to the company web site and buy it. You can download it or they will ship you the CD.

Cait Sith Posted October 27, 2008 #19 Posted October 27, 2008 I plan on getting this, but im waiting for my copy of trainz classics to arrive first. This simulator looks splendid. I have to wait until I get new PC parts for my desktop to play this. My laptop should probably run this fine
Paul P Posted October 28, 2008 #20 Posted October 28, 2008 If you are talking the specs for TC, then I can tell you it is very demanding in specs, but if you have them, it will run just fine, the game itself is cool. Make sure to drive the MN routes.
NovaBus Posted November 12, 2008 #21 Posted November 12, 2008 So I installed the game, and it takes forever for me to load. I'm using a Dell XPS laptop. Does it lag a while for people playing it on their laptops too? Or am I just too impatient? Sigh.
Y2Julio Posted November 12, 2008 Author #22 Posted November 12, 2008 Sounds like a weak video card. The game runs fine on my Laptop and Desktop.
INDman Posted November 12, 2008 #23 Posted November 12, 2008 On my lop top, it takes a while to load up, but once it does it works just fine. It works fine except for all the stuck red signals out side Hoboken.
Y2Julio Posted November 12, 2008 Author #24 Posted November 12, 2008 I usually ignore what's displayed on the actual signals and just go by with that the digital display tells me whats the status of the next signal.
INDman Posted November 12, 2008 #25 Posted November 12, 2008 When you run a red, even a stuck one it ends the game.
