Got the alerts this morning that the test/interview have been cancelled. I haven’t received anything yet though, not that it matters now lol. Although this is a great opportunity to study up though.

An announcement regarding this postponement has been made on this MTA webpage.

I got my letter to take the test on Monday, March 9, 2020 then on Wednesday, March 11, 2019 I got emails and text messages that the test has been postponed until further notice.

I am blaming the beervirus = Coronavirus for this!

Can someone share any good study material or websites to study for the test.

As far as materials to study, from briefly looking the Notice of Examination (NOE), which you can find in the first post, I would recommend this and this NYPD Test Preparation Kits except for the memorization portion. Both test preparation kits give a small preview of most of the things that are listed on the Notice of Examination. In addition, from taking several civil service examinations, I would not recommend purchasing any of those "passbooks" since the material contained in these books are out of date. Now if you can get a "passbook" from your local library for free, then whether you use it or not is up to you.

  • when will we have the exam ? any ideas

First, welcome to the website!!

Second, I would encourage you to check out this website for the latest information. If I had to take an 'educated' guess, it probably won't be until the fall, aka, September or October. The reason why is because, the Examinations Unit normally rents out a school to administer these examinations on the weekend. Therefore, with the fact that the academic school year will be ending 'remotely' and not in-person, on top of the fact that Mayor Bill DeBlasio has cancelled all major events through June (click here for more information), and with the fact that the Examinations Unit does not normally rent out a school or a test site during the summer months, since most of the schools do not have central Air Conditioning, I highly doubt that we will be taking the examination before Labor Day weekend.

In the meantime, stay safe and healthy!!

will we be called again if we were already to take test

First, welcome to the Forums!! Have you read the guidelines? If not, please take a moment and do so. In the event you are unaware, this includes "bumping topics" under "Forum Etiquette."

Second, we will probably and most likely be called again for the examination, it's just a matter of time. Like I previously said, in the meantime I would encourage you to check out this website for the latest information.

Stay safe and healthy!!
