This thread will be to discuss all pending and planned SBS routes throughout the 5 boroughs. Planning calls for these routes to be rolled out through the next decade. For discussion about current SBS service, please refer to the existing, and recently renamed General SBS Discussion Thread.

Listed below are all the planned SBS routes as of September 9, 2018. Current priority is B82, M14, and S90. Please remember all information is subject to change without notice.

Bronx Division

Bx3, Bx9, Bx15, Bx19, Bx28/38, Bx36, Bx40/42

Brooklyn Division

B6, B15, B35, B38*, B41, B82

*New Brooklyn Crosstown SBS may end up being some version of the B38 SBS vs an all new route.

Manhattan Division

M14, M96

Queens Division**

Q6, Q12, Q25, Q27, Q43, Q46, Q58, Q65, Q66 to Manhattan, Q85, Q113/114

** Please note Queens will be the last borough to undergo bus redesign. All planned SBS services for this borough will be put on hold until 2021.

Staten Island

S90 or Some new SBS form of it.

S90 SBS? That's a failure already...

Also how would the M96 work?

How would you know if its a failure if sbs on the S90 doesn't even exist yet? The M96 would probably work like the other crosstown sbs routes.

For the M96, would it be slightly fast like the crosstowns? If so, its another reason why we need more streets converted to busways. Fulton Street in Brooklyn already works (somehow), so why not in Manhattan?

Does anyone know why the M60 was rerouted between Astoria Blvd and Steinway St? They added new SBS machines at Starbucks and said it was temporary , any ideas?

Aren’t they redoing the station like in raising it? Probably why they’re rerouting it.

M60+ and Q19 stop is temporarily relocated during construction until Tuesday Feb. 6th.

Well for one, they're using columbus triangle (where the normal stop is) as a construction staging area.

Second, that intersection will be closed for 20 weekends during construction.

I think it will be longer than that... Unless we're talking about two different things

IMPLEMENT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL PRIORITY SYSTEM ON SEVERAL SELECTED BUS SERVICE (SBS) ROUTES THROUGH SIGNAL PRIORITY IN CONGESTED CORRIDORS TO REDUCE BUS TRAVEL TIME AND MAKE BUS SERVICE MORE RELIABLE ON THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS: BX6 SBS (155TH ST, 161ST ST, ELTON AVE, 163RD ST, ETC.); B82 SBS (BAY PARKWAY, KINGS HWY, FLATLANDS AVE; PENNSYLVANIA AVE, ETC); B46 SBS (UTICA AVE); BX12 SBS (207TH ST, FORDHAM ROAD, PELHAM PKWY, ETC.) L Project Weekly #10: This week's news, that Court Sq moving walkway, Select Bus Service coming to 14th Street

Non-L Project update: Select Bus Service is coming to 14th Street in Manhattan

It's not the L Project. Or the L. But it partially would run right above where the L is, so we thought you'd be interested to get the news that we've committed to operating a permanent Select Bus Service on 14th Street in Manhattan.

We'll be partnering with NYC DOT on the planning, design and implementation of bus priority along the route including bus lanes on 14th Street. Our next step is to do a proper community input process on our initial proposed route (see above photo), so more to come.

So the m14 routes will be fully converted instead of being a separate route.

Don't really get why this wasn't the first plan. Probably because of the (L) but it's good to hear the oddball Quill artic routes will be fully converted.

The current M14A/D cannot absorb the ridership the L has (especially during the rush)

They probably also realized how bad fare beating is on the route too

This is going to be interesting. I'm wondering how Manhattan Community Boards 4, 5, and 6 are going to react to this? What will they propose for the 14th Street corridor? Will they proposed the traditional curbside or offset bus lanes? Or will advocate for the full 14th Street closure or a median busway? So many questions to be asked here about this M14 SBS plan. Also keep in mind that they are the EXACT three community boards who asked for median busways along 23rd Street M23 SBS back in 2016, so they could ask for something similar to that.
