The following are action items for the NJT board meeting to be held on Wednesday.

2003-12          BUS STOCK PROGRAM: PURCHASE OF 25 ARTICULATED BUSES – Authorization to exercise options contained in NJ TRANSIT Contract No. 18-032 with New Flyer of America of St. Cloud, Minnesota, for the purchase of 25 Articulated Buses, including spare parts, at a cost not to exceed $19,602,200, plus five percent for contingencies, subject to the availability of funds.

2003-16     PROPERTY ACQUISITION IN RIDGEFIELD PARK FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW BUS GARAGE – Authorization to offer and make compensatory payments to property owners that hold title to property from which fee rights are needed for the Northern Bus Garage Project in accordance with the Eminent Domain Act of 1971, N.J.S.A. 20:3-1, et. seq.

Authorization to take any and all actions to acquire in fee Parcels 1 through 4 and other rights necessary for the Northern Bus Garage Project in amounts not to exceed payments discussed in Executive Session, subject to the availability of funds, in accordance with the Eminent Domain Law of 1971, including filing complaints in condemnation, recording declarations of taking, and where necessary, depositing compensation with the Clerk of the Superior Court, so long as NJ TRANSIT attempts to acquire these parcels from the property owners through bona fide negotiations before commencing condemnation proceedings.

NJT notes that the Ridgefield Park bus garage will have capacity for 500 45-foot cruiser buses and will replace Oradell garage.

500? Sounds like it can replace both Oradell AND Market Street....Market Street is also due for a rehab.

Throw in some routes from Fairview too

although there's a vote no one has submitted bids as per the information posted on NJT website with regard to the "New Northern Bus Facility" a firm should have already been secured prior to a vote it should also be of note that they specifically used the wording pending funds availability which i find odd because if they didn't have the funds why would this even be put up for a vote

That was the plan before. Oradell currently has 200+ buses and if you had in market st fleet that be around 340-400 buses

Ok so upon further research 100 U.S. 46 East is the address for the Hampton Inn hotel apparently that's what was discussed in executive session in regards to payments they state eminent domain my guess is that would only be used if the hotel operator refuses to give up the property
