I wish they would rewrite the schedules on certain routes to be as even as possible, but I am glad they are doing this. It allows Bee-Line to provide the best service possible with the staff they have. I had to do the same thing this summer for the same reasons and I wish I had did it earlier.

The BxM4C is being choked out slowly and has been for years, but they won't kill it as long as I am interested in running it. They will run 1 bus a day like the old BxM4D to keep me off of the route. If the MTA decides to make the BxM4 rush hour only, I will run an off-peak bus to Yonkers Raceway and kill two birds with one stone. Most of the BxM4C ridership is Tuckahoe and points south anyway.

Right, and how exactly do you plan on running a route if the county won't allow you to?

It isn't the county's decision. It is NYSDOT's decision and they would call a public hearing to sort the issue out. The entire process would take about 90 days.

Empire City Casino is a logical terminal for a Grand Concourse express bus. WCDOT would likely challenge alongside Liberty Lines Transit, but the MTA (Metro-North) would stay out of it if the route starts/ends at Empire City Casino.

I don't agree with cutting the SWEP 6 trips, those trips are highly used and will only delay and crowd the other 6 trips more.

And the BxM4c is bound to get eliminated at this point, it's a matter of time.

If they can't provide the service because of bus operator shortages, the trips will just be left open more times than not, so for now at least, it may make sense, and if ridership picks up and they can provide more service later on, go that route. This isn't ideal, but it prevents any routes from being outright eliminated.

How do they know you're interested in running it? Or are you merely being tongue in cheek with that....

Nice to know that things haven't changed in over 20 years !

I get the sense that SWEP really wants to kick buses out of that complex.

I may or may not have received a letter from Liberty Lines's attorney about running the corridor off-peak several years ago just before they killed off-peak/weekend service. :D
