It's not meant to be funny, but I agree the phrasing was too blunt and not specific looking back now. Also just realized OP is Janelle but I said "sir".

At school, I am involved in a pretty extensive club that aims to help students but also the larger community deal with drug-related issues; we have connections to actual organizations and stuff. Someone asking about it implies they may be on something; I'm not here to judge anyone because I don't know they're situation and maybe I'm making an unfair assumption, but I feel like it's better to offer help, even if they don't need or want it.

Generally speaking though, I feel like there needs to be less stigma around harmless drug usage.

Also I think I've said this before but I'm autistic so often struggle with tone and stuff, even through writing. If I ever come across in a bad way on this forum please let me know directly.
