Pablo M 201 Posted November 29, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 29, 2008 whn is the PA5 gonna start service? PA4 ill miss for the RF windows but they gotta go! The PA-5s should be starting revenue service testing really soon, sometime in December last I was told. The PA-4s don't need to go. They're only 21-22 years old, still in great shape, run well. Some may look bad, but thats because PATH slacks on maintenance. The cars you're thinking of that need to go are the PA-1s, 2s, and 3s. Those are really starting to look bad and not run as well as they use to. But again, PATH slacks on maintenance quite abit now, and especially more on those cars. Ride and learn the system more before making comments like, "PA4 ill miss for the RF windows but they gotta go!"

MTR Admiralty Posted November 30, 2008 Share #6 Posted November 30, 2008 The PA-4 are very good cars. The reasons why they are going to replace the PA1, PA2 and PA3 are because they are ageing and the PA does not want to spend more money in maintaining them and that they have two doors which can lead to problems during rush hours. " So that's why the PA is balmed for the bad maintance for these old cars.
