Earle Baldwin Posted December 3, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2008 In the ongoing effort to bring you the finest in holiday railroading entertainment, I thought the NYCT Forum membership would like to know the Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge, NJ is sponsoring its annual holiday train show. The centerpiece of the display is a sizeable O gauge railroad equipped with over three hundred feet of track. Capable of running multiple trains simultaneously, the layout also features an operating amusement park, ballpark complete with softball game and other scenic highlights. Fans of local roads will be pleased with the Jersey Central, Pennsylvania and NJ Transit equipment which runs regularly on the railroad. Also on display are assorted pieces of memorabilia, vintage photographs and model trains in all of the popular scales. Operating hours are 11-4, Monday through Friday and 2-4 on the weekend. Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted. Every year I try to make time to visit the display as it is consistently well done. The Barron Arts Center is located at 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge. For those traveling by train, it is about a ten minute walk from Woodbridge Station on the North Jersey Coast Line.
