checkmatechamp13 Posted September 4 Share #1 Posted September 4 I started working on a map of the different jitney van services that run between NYC and Pennsylvania. Most of them operate out of curbside locations in Washington Heights. The ones to the Poconos go down I-80, make a stop in Paterson, and then have a final terminal in either Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, or Hazleton. Most (but not all) make stops in Stroudsburg and other towns off I-80 in the Poconos. There's also some to Lehigh Valley and Reading, as well as Philadelphia/Camden, Lancaster, Harrisburg, and (not included on my map at the moment) New England and Central NY. Some more information is available here: https://capntransit.blogspot.com/2024/06/long-distance-jitneys-to-pennsylvania.html Not sure how to post the spreadsheet, but for anybody who is interested, feel free to message me, and I'll send it over. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1goA5cSpec1cYAWiJrYYliYQYnTeBPaI&ll=40.660115750096296%2C-75.35614405&z=8
Mtatransit Posted September 11 Share #2 Posted September 11 Wow some of these carriers are even more fly by night than the original Chinatown lines How did you find out about all of them?
checkmatechamp13 Posted Friday at 02:24 AM Author Share #3 Posted Friday at 02:24 AM I had met somebody who lived in Hazleton a while back who took a van from Washington Heights, and I was talking with some friends about how Paterson has I-80 going through it, and the Washington Heights van probably stops in Paterson en route to the Poconos....I was wondering if that company was still in business after the pandemic, and I ended up searching and finding a whole network of private companies out of NYC, primarily going down I-80 and I-78, but also to New England, Delaware and Upstate NY.
