It can't happen, Hill's the new Sec. of State, it's illogical to hold both jobs (SoS and NY Senator) at once

However in other countries it is allowed to have dual roles. For instance, in Canada and Britian, High senior members of parliment (their version of Congress)are also part of the cabinet or staff of the prime minster. Wouldn't it be corruption, much? Having multiple roles?
Shortline Bus Posted January 25, 2009 Author Share #32 Posted January 25, 2009 Not in the US.Wouldn't it be corruption, much? Having multiple roles? Correct it not allowed to have dual roles of major office ie Sec of State and US Senate. However in a couple of states (it has happened in places like La.)wherebys people are allowed to be both a Governor and US Senate at same time in a caretaker situation no more than i think 2 years. Yea, but that's only temporary. Plus Hillary Clinton should not continue because she would only set a bad example to everyone else.

Other than a major sickness/health issue or major family crisis, you should fill out your term for public office. However leaving one political job for another happens all the time in politics. President GW Bush left in middle of his term as Texas Govenor in early 2001 to become Commander in Chief. Ditto for our New President Obama and Vice President Biden with their Senate jobs. And Hillary's Husband Bill who was also re elected in Ark as their Governor, the same year he won the president race in 1992. These are recent examples.
