Finally the days of the R32 are coming to an end. They were great cars and really well made, solid machines for the era. But they can't match the prowness of the modern propulsion systems.

The subway in NYC has come a long way during the history of the system.

From Westinghouse 1447-C or GE 1240-A5 Traction Motors, to Alstom ONYX Propulsion System soon enough.

It will take time to reef the R32 and get deliveries over the course of the years.

Ok who put the snowing effect on the screen just now? :) I thought I was going crazy, but these forums have a feature that allows for such and it was just added as I was here.

Looks like the R32 Phase I's are now going. And R160 A-2 is coming. That car 3792/3 can be junked and replaced with a spanking new R160 A-2. No need to fix that header frame or beam. Just reef it. Plenty of cars to go around to get that one out. Don't even need it for parts anymore.

Now is the home stretch for seeing an R160A-2 in Jamaica in Revenue service any time now.
