duelingdragons 0 Posted December 11, 2008 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2008 Is it the (A)/(D) between 59th and 125th? Maybe that just seems long because its in Manhattan and you can actually put a number of blocks on how long the run is.. I might be way off on this. via White Plains Road 189 Posted December 11, 2008 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2008 I think the Lexington Avenue Line (4)/(5) got the longest express run....its starts from Chinatown/Financial District (Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall) to Harlem (125th)! The (4)/(5) stop at 14th, 42nd, 59th, and 86th though... The (A)/(D) run straight through from 59th to 125th.
R62A 1991 2 Posted December 11, 2008 Share #6 Posted December 11, 2008 Depends on what you mean...if you mean longest express between stations, then it's the (A)/(D), if you mean longest distance a train RUNS express, then I'm sure it's the (4)/(5) on Lexington, with the on Fulton coming in at a close second. Maybe that just seems long because its in Manhattan and you can actually put a number of blocks on how long the run is.. I might be way off on this. I would say the from 168th Street to Canal Street. THAT, is a heck of an express run.
MTR Admiralty 4 Posted December 11, 2008 Share #10 Posted December 11, 2008 Yeah, I meant longest express run between two stations. Oh, in that case... yeah, perhaps from 125th Street to 59th Street. Just use Google Maps to figure the distance.

This is the longest express run but by no means is this the best express run. The best is the 2/3 between Times Square and 72nd.

MTR Admiralty 4 Posted December 14, 2008 Share #14 Posted December 14, 2008 Well, I feel the longest is really the Rockaway ... Not anyhow in the City... Well that is the longest distance between any two stations in the system (Howard Beach-JFK Airport and Broad Channel), there is no express service there, though. SubwayGuy 2,322 Posted December 14, 2008 Share #16 Posted December 14, 2008 Oh, you mean the longest distance between two stations even if there is local stations. If that is, then I am not so sure between the distance of the and Central Park stretch or the Jamaica Bay service. And sweet, always gets the longest, ! JFK and Broad Channel are further apart than 59 and 125, not by much, but by enough.

Yes they are... but the question is, the longest express run from any two stops. Jamaica Bay is not an express run.
