MTR Admiralty Posted December 28, 2008 Share #27 Posted December 28, 2008 This was never on wikipedia,I heard this on here. This was never on wikipedia,I heard this on here. Thats kinda true. Rumour. It was written by someone on Wikipedia. That was removed due to controversy. There was a thread on this earlier. @AWWang, the power issue is probably fixed so it really is not an issue to be dealt with. The barn thing could be an issue. MTR Admiralty Posted December 28, 2008 Share #30 Posted December 28, 2008 Well, agreed! I never saw it on wikipedia during my scramble for info 'wiki-raid'! Yes, I know the power was fixed, but I was talking about the waters in the Bay... And the barm thing won't be an issue unless if they considered height, the R-44 is 75 footers and the R-160 is 60 footers! They have an 15 foot difference... Waters in the bay??? What has that got to do with the R160s not being on the A/C??? Specify.

Fresh Pond Posted December 29, 2008 Share #32 Posted December 29, 2008 Some sites said it rusts the NTT? I have no clue what, where, when and how it happened, ... I think it's between Howard Beach-JFK and Broad Channel (that long stretch of tracks between the stations)

MTR Admiralty Posted December 29, 2008 Share #34 Posted December 29, 2008 Some sites said it rusts the NTT? I have no clue what, where, when and how it happened, B)... Well it has been said that cars age faster on the lines near the sea. Here is your counter example: the MBTA Blue Line has just receive new cars. The line, for the most part, runs very close to the sea. If that line could receive new cars, then according to logic, the A/C is able to receive NTTs, so technically, that should NOT be an issue. MTR Admiralty Posted January 1, 2009 Share #38 Posted January 1, 2009 I just think its weird that Broad Channel water effects R160's I really do not think that the salinity of the Jamaica Bay affects R160 performance, or is an excuse to not run the R160s on the A/C lines.
