Thats kinda true.

Rumour.

It was written by someone on Wikipedia. That was removed due to controversy. There was a thread on this earlier.

@AWWang, the power issue is probably fixed so it really is not an issue to be dealt with.

The barn thing could be an issue.

Well, agreed! I never saw it on wikipedia during my scramble for info 'wiki-raid'! Yes, I know the power was fixed, but I was talking about the waters in the Bay... And the barm thing won't be an issue unless if they considered height, the R-44 is 75 footers and the R-160 is 60 footers! They have an 15 foot difference...

Waters in the bay???

What has that got to do with the R160s not being on the A/C??? Specify.

Some sites said it rusts the NTT? I have no clue what, where, when and how it happened, B)...

Well it has been said that cars age faster on the lines near the sea. Here is your counter example: the MBTA Blue Line has just receive new cars. The line, for the most part, runs very close to the sea. If that line could receive new cars, then according to logic, the A/C is able to receive NTTs, so technically, that should NOT be an issue.
