Y2Julio 206 Posted December 22, 2008 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2008 um those trains were always running in service. It's not like the MTA suddenly took them out of storage and started running them.
SevenEleven 3,054 Posted December 22, 2008 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2008 I don't see it that way. As more cars from the R160 order come in, its freeing more of the older cars. Might as well run them on the lines that need them.

mark1447 685 Posted December 22, 2008 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2008 Subway cars get switched to other subway lines all the time....its nothing new they get switched when a new fleet comes in, if the R160 wasnt here, everything would remain the same, For Example when the R188 comes in that would mean we may see some r62s on the possiably now that attracts loads of RFers.. and yes NYTransit, when i see the R40 on the i feel like im in the 80s with the and (AA) lol now we gonna see 46s bk on these lines

R62, R142, and R142A.The car equipment assignments for both divisions were just posted for the new pick effective 12/21/08. Anything is subject to change of course. Also note that there is no mention of an R 142S type anywhere. The cars in the 1101-12.. + series are R142 cars as per Car Equipment.
