Forest Glen Posted January 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2009 I saw an interesting thread at Subchat. The Federal Railroad Administration approved Amtrak's plan to construct a new 3 track bridge over the Hackensack River. The bridge will replace the 98 year old bridge that is currently in place. This will relieve a major bottleneck along the Northeast Corridor. metsfan Posted January 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2009 This is incredible news. This plus the ARC = huge huge increase in trains per hour capacity. Right now trains have a very low speed restriction, plus i believe they limit it to max of 1 train at a time. - A
