R62A 1991 Posted January 5, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 5, 2009 Ah, wonderful. When the got R160s, the MTA decided not to sign the runs from Broadway Junction to either Jamaica Center or Broad St as trains, but as trains. No clue why. But awesome pictures! MattTrain Posted January 5, 2009 Share #6 Posted January 5, 2009 Nice catches, there buddy! As for the R160A-1 trains that you see, that's a put in for Rush Hour service. In the afternoons, the begins at Broadway Junction running local to Broad Street, Manhattan then begins rush hour service skip stop with to Jamaica Center.

Guest Charles Posted January 6, 2009 Share #10 Posted January 6, 2009 Brilliant shots as always! 1) Why does the put SEA BEACH EXP into the (N)'s signs on the R160? Doesn't it technically go Sea Beach Local, rather 4 Avenue Express? 2) What's wrong with 8955?
R62A 1991 Posted January 6, 2009 Share #11 Posted January 6, 2009 Brilliant shots as always! 1) Why does the put SEA BEACH EXP into the (N)'s signs on the R160? Doesn't it technically go Sea Beach Local, rather 4 Avenue Express? I think it is because the runs express on 4th Av that they put Sea Beach EXP. The weekend of Plan 4, when trains ran 4th Av Local, but via the Bridge, they had Sea Beach Local. So I think the reading there is determined by whether the is running local or express on 4th Av. During late nights, however, you don't even see Sea Beach Local, because they trade that in for via Whitehall.

The same can be said for the , when the runs via Whitehall, that message is displayed instead of Brighton Local or shall I put it this way. First for the to Coney Island Broadway LCL via WHITEHALL Then for the via Whitehall Street to Coney Island Broadway LCL via Whitehall You can correct me on this. They are a set of R-160 on the that reads: Coney Island Broadway Lcl Sea Beach Lcl IMO it should read Coney Island Broadway Lcl or Exp 4 Av Exp/Sea Bch Lcl
