7LineFan Posted January 14, 2009 Share #26 Posted January 14, 2009 Oh, yup! They are possibly trying to match the NTT's... Hope the seats are not from the R-110's... They're definitely R110B style, but I doubt they're from the R110B. IIRC the R110B's seats were greenish.
Tbirdbassist Posted January 14, 2009 Share #27 Posted January 14, 2009 No, why are the seats blue instead of some other color, not why they're there is what Tbirdbassist's asking. The color of the new seats looks like the benches on the NTTs. Maybe that's why. Whoops, didn't see that that was posted. Thanks.
MattTrain Posted January 14, 2009 Share #28 Posted January 14, 2009 I love blue seats on trains! They make it look modern, like today's NTT trains.

MTR Admiralty Posted January 14, 2009 Share #30 Posted January 14, 2009 I love blue seats on trains! They make it look modern, like today's NTT trains. I rather they look more like the regular bucket seats.

Eric B Posted January 14, 2009 Share #32 Posted January 14, 2009 It's the same seats that were in the cars before; just painted a solid color without the beige trim. that's what makes them look so different.

Eric B Posted January 14, 2009 Share #34 Posted January 14, 2009 Not sure. It could be to match the NTT's as some have suggested.

TransitGuy Posted January 15, 2009 Share #36 Posted January 15, 2009 I think they should have gone with a darker blue in order to match with colors but these seats look much better than the orange and yellow seats. Heres a photo of them that recently showed up on nycsubway.org. This is not my photo, this photo is by Zach Summer. I repeat not by me but by Zach Summer

MTR Admiralty Posted January 16, 2009 Share #38 Posted January 16, 2009 Those look like benches rather than bucket seats. In fact, they look strikingly similar to those benches on the NTTs
Eric B Posted January 16, 2009 Share #39 Posted January 16, 2009 Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 1.0; en-us; dream) AppleWebKit/525.10+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0.4 Mobile Safari/523.12.2) I can't see the photo on mobile, but if it looks like a bench, then that's the solid color making it look flat. You're used to the tan trim between the seats outlining the "bucket".

Eric B Posted January 16, 2009 Share #41 Posted January 16, 2009 No, it's completely flat.OK; I'm home now and can see the picture. Yes, those are flat, and they' simply are NTT seats, and not the blue ones replacing orange ones on R-46 or 62. But I guess that was hispoint. He was posting these as examples of NTT's, to compare the ones on the 46. These are periwinkle, while the replacesments on the 46's and 62's are more of a baby blue. TransitGuy Posted January 16, 2009 Share #43 Posted January 16, 2009 Sorry guys, I guess I jumped the gun on that one. I wonder what those were for though. But back to topic, I guess we should expect to see bucket style seats then.
