Regularly scheduled trains traveling between Philadelphia and Washington, DC on Saturday can expect delays of between 30 minutes and 60 minutes. These delays may extend beyond those cities to Boston and Newport News, Va. Some trains may be required to hold temporarily while en route between Washington and Philadelphia during the day Saturday. The Wilmington station will be closed between 10:00 am and 2:45 pm on January 17. Accordingly, the following trains will not stop in Wilmington, bypassing the station, but making all other scheduled stops: Southbound Trains 155 2207 143 195 91 2251 147 Northbound Trains 2250 164 82 20 88 2212 140 Amtrak regrets any inconvenience to passengers traveling on January 17 and will minimize delays as much as possible. Many Trains Sold Out for Inaugural Period As of January 15, most Amtrak trains to and from Washington during the inaugural period, January 18 through January 21, are sold out. Passengers seeking information may call 800-USA-RAIL or visit Amtrak.com. Passengers traveling during this period are urged to purchase round-trip tickets prior to boarding the first leg of their journey. No Baggage Storage in Washington Passengers planning to arrive and return on Inauguration Day without an overnight stay are urged to minimize articles of luggage, since there will be no baggage storage facilities at Washington Union Station.
