FamousNYLover 578 Posted January 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2009 MTA New York City Transit Posted on:1/15/2009 7:31:59 PM Due to a police investigation on the west side of Manhattan between 23rd Street and 79th Street, the following bus detours are in effect: M34 (West-bound) - via 34th Street, left on 9th Avenue, right on West 33rd Street, right on 10th Avenue, right on W 34th Street and regular. M42 (West-bound) - via 42nd Street, left on 11th Avenue, right on West 41st Street and regular. M50 (West-bound) - via 49th Street, left on 11th Avenue, right on West 41st Street, right on 12th Avenue and regular. M79 (West-bound) - via 79th Street, right on Broadway, left on West 86th Street, left on West End Avenue, left on 79th Street and regular. Please expect delays in service on the M34, M42, M50 and M79 buses at this time. How does these buses affect or is it because of police praticeing responding to major emergency similar to 9-11? Have you not hear the news, a commercial jet crashed into the Hudson River, no deaths/injuries, everybody safe and alive.

MTR Admiralty 4 Posted January 16, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 16, 2009 Have you not hear the news, a commercial jet crashed into the Hudson River, no deaths/injuries, everybody safe and alive. Thank God. However... my M14 got rerouted like crazy today. That is on 14th Street, pretty far away from the site. Any explanation for that? I got on my M14A at Seventh Avenue at 1705 Bus continued on 14th Street to 6th Ave Turned on 6 Ave to 16th Street Continued on 16th Street to 5th Avenue Continued on 5th Avenue to 12th Street Continued on 12th Street to 4th Avenue Continued on 4th Avenue/Union Square East to 16th Street Continued on 16th Street to 3rd Avenue Continued on 3rd Avenue to 14th Street Then regular route It took me AN HOUR just to get from Seventh Avenue to Seward Park Any explanations for this major reroute? metsfan 2 Posted January 16, 2009 Share #6 Posted January 16, 2009 In fact there was a level 1 alert response, which is VERY similar to 9/11 except WAY more organized. Thanks for posting the service changes! - A

Thanks for posting the service changes! - A Yeah because although it was an accident, the city really did well to provide the best response service IN CASE IF SOMETHING REALLY HAPPENED.
