Ok, so Ulmer Park got 5058 from the Flatbush Depot. Flatbush has shipped some 40 buses to the Quill Depot in exchange for some 40 RTS "camera" buses. These swaps are done every day. Eventually, all of the "8000" series will be taken out of service and be sent to the Eastchester Depot to be dismantled. All depots that are now getting the new Hybrids will be phasing out their inventory of the old RTS buses. I have driven the new Hybrids and they handle better than the RTS. They have a 24 inch rear hang over so the operator has to give alot of room in front so pulling away from a bus stop does not take out a sign, person in the stop or hydrant. Flatbush currently has about 60 hybrids and Ulmer Park is getting them next. Quill depot is training their operators now and will soon have hybrids on the M34, M50 and a few other routes.
