Guys you forgot one important long route. You guys are guessing. This is fact from various sources from MTA website and others.

Offically the longest intraborough local/limited stop bus route is the S-74/84 and 78 from St George's-Tottenville in Staten Island.

Longest intraborough or local route in NYC. Q-60 East Midtown-South Jamaica.

Longest express Bus route: X-22 Tottenville-Midtown and X-17c Midtown-Arden Heights.

Those are the facts.

Interborough Local or longest overall in NYC.

Q-60 Queens Blvd/

X-22 and X-17 South Shore SI-Midtown.

Negative!!!! Those routes are not really as short as people say. The Bx20 and Bx27 is shorter than both Bx11 and 35 routes! The Bx18 or Bx29 is the shortest in the Bronx!

Ok Yuki. You dont believe anything i said anymore that cool.

You are correct that the W-12 W-14 and W-15 are the longest bus routes in Westchester County. However the question was about NYC.

yes the B15 is one of the longest bus routes in Brooklyn. However Yuki have you been on all 200-plus bus routes in NYC to be sure you are right?

Fact: According to the MTA own website http://WWW.MTA.INFO http://WWW.Mapquest.com http://WWW.NYC.GOV and several other sources these are the facts.

Longest local bus route is the Q60. Yuki the Q113 is over 15 miles but it's not the longest in Queens. The Q60 traveling over 22 miles from East Midtown to South Jamaica is the longest.

Longest same boro (intraborough)bus route is the S-74/84 and S-78 between Tottenville and St George's.

Longest express bus routes. The X-17c and X-22 between Staten Island South Shore and Midtown.

Shorest bus route is the S60 St John's University-Wagner College shuttle bus in Staten Island. The shortest full time bus route B74 which barely touches a mile between Stillwell Terminal and Sea gate in Coney Island.

The others that are close and very short are the B-39 Williamsburgh Bridge and B77 Red hook-Park Slope line.

Those are the undisputed facts guys of longest bus routes in NYC area. If you dont want to believe me well have fun in the transit world.;)

Funny that you (hudson river, TTC, R7, w/e) mention mapquest....

This was months ago, but I've been using mapquest to figure out how long (approximately) each NYC bus route is... so far, I finished all of Manhattan's routes, except the M35 & the M60.... I was in the middle of doing SI's routes... maybe I'll continue doing this when I'm in the mood for it....

yeah, I got the x22 at 34.21 miles....

the x24 at 35.72 miles (yeah, I know... this is an AE route... but I still did it out of curiosity)

I got the S78 at 16.83mi, and the S74 at 17.51mi (not counting it's stint looping in & out of ETC)

looking at this list, I have the M101 at 10.49mi, and the M1 (full route) at 10.48mi... M5 at 10.25mi

shortest, the M96 at 1.86mi, M30 & M34 at 2.02mi....

* and before anyone says anything regarding this... NO, these are not official numbers... anyone on this forum can get these same, or very very similar numbers using mapquest, yahoo maps, etc....

I not guessing.

I took B15 all the way from near J station to JFK Airport 3 times.

W14 and W15 is 2-hour ride which I took.

TOR91 goes up, then east to New City, back to same street, goes up, east, south, west.

BL-15 is longer than the BL-14... Dadbo back on straps said it himself...

even before he did, I would agree... the BL-15 took over 2 hrs everytime I rode it... hell, look at where the 15 starts, where it is in mid-route, and where it ends up....

.....and the airlink can't be the shortest bee line route... you're forgetting about those loop routes, and all those bus-to-rail commuter routes (like the 38, 39, etc)....

B35, don:t you mean X23, or X24?

hate to quote myself, but...

yeah, I got the x22 at 34.21 miles....

the x24 at 35.72 miles (yeah, I know... this is an AE route... but I still did it out of curiosity)

I didn't do the mapquest routing of the x23, bro... only the x22 & the x24....
