They were/are bus transfers from Bus....evenutally they going to go back or the other depots were lazy to change them from Bus to New York City Bus

Except for Queens Village (which did reletter buses back to New York City Bus), I have not seen it done anywhere else with regularity, although 8156 and 8157 were relabeled.

 

BTW, 8393 is relabeled on the rear only.

I once saw 5349 on the Bx12 and still said Bus.

8080 has an identity crisis. It doesn't know if it's MTA NYC Bus or MTA Bus.

The sides say MTA New York City Bus. The rear says MTA Bus. Sorry no pics but I did see it on the B24 yesterday.
