Brighton Local Posted January 20, 2008 Share #4 Posted January 20, 2008 As a former Staten Islander for 22 years, I always knew what models were used for many routes; as well as bus numbers and which depot they are / were out of. But, since my residency has changed since I departed Staten Island in August 2006, I noticed my trips back to the IslaNd; many models and numbers have been swapped between Castleton And Yukon. Any word yet on the Charleston Depot down In Rossville?
yukonexpress Posted January 22, 2008 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2008 cool another bus operator. can you tell us about the reroutes through New Jersey to avoid the traffic in Brooklyn and how they determine it. The X17J, X22, X30 travel through New Jersey via the Lincoln Tunnel(LT) in the AM and PM rush . X31 travels through Brooklyn only during the AM rush and goes through NJ in the evening. Express Dead Head trips back to SI are supposed to use the LT thru NJ before 9:30. After 9:30 BBT thru Brooklyn.

SIR North Shore Posted January 29, 2008 Share #7 Posted January 29, 2008 I've lived on Staten Island all of my life and have a very good knowledge of info about all of SI's bus service and routings. Although, I don't have any inside connections or the liking about future changes. My local routes are the S40/S90, S44/S94, S46/S96, S48/S98, S53 and S54. Brighton Local Posted January 29, 2008 Share #8 Posted January 29, 2008 The S79 was and still is my favorite Staten Island Route. If I ever got the chance to operate a Bus from Yukon, the 79 would top off the list.
