Y2Julio Posted February 7, 2009 Share #3 Posted February 7, 2009 Hasn't changed my view of him. So he smoked pot, who cares? He helped America kick ass in the Olympics.
Joe Posted February 7, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 7, 2009 Hasn't changed my view of him. So he smoked pot, who cares? He helped America kick ass in the Olympics. Yeah really, if people who smoke pot are useless, how did this guy win so many gold medals?
R32 3348 Posted February 7, 2009 Share #5 Posted February 7, 2009 I love how people think so bad of him as if there are no 23-year-olds smoke pot. He's just a normal guy, haven't you all noticed how shy he seemed whenever he had to make speeches and stuff during the olympics?
B35 via Church Posted February 7, 2009 Share #6 Posted February 7, 2009 He was the feel-good story for us americans in the olympics... The olympics comes once every four years... knowing that, I think this was nothing more than the media wanting to keep Phelps in the headlines... as a celebrity, a "public figure", or w/e you wanna call it, you have to know people will try to watch your every move you make in the public... especially in this "youtube", "candid camera", "I'm going to videotape anything I feel fit", era that we're in today... Phelps had to have known that... this (definitely) wouldn't have an issue in the 70's.... nor the 80's... the 90's, maybe... but the media coverage this is getting is just plain crazy... Some stations that's aired this story, acts like the man smoked crack in front of the pope or something... edit my fault for not answering the question.... I don't think any less of him, since he got recorded smoking pot... Leave the man be, he isn't public enemy number 1.....
Forest Glen Posted February 8, 2009 Share #7 Posted February 8, 2009 Kobe Bryant did A LOT worse and he was forgiven by the media. If Phelps wins more gold medals at the 2012 Olympics in London then all will be forgiven.
TransitGuy Posted February 8, 2009 Share #8 Posted February 8, 2009 Frankly I don't care. For his image though, he might want to make a public service announcement and maybe enter rehab. Winning some more medals won't hurt either.
