IND R1 #100 subway car

Recommended Posts

When it originally came it didn't have taillights, and those are required, so they had to retrofit it with them. I guess it was cheaper to fit an entirely new unit to the car.

Until 1960s, NYCTA subway cars didn't have headlights. They had four lights at each ends that change colors. I think that the bottom lights are red or white and the top lights are different colors.
