Stations That Need Rehab

Thing is though, that is highly unlikely that they would be rehabbed since they are in great shape. Also Union Street was rehabbed a few years ago and retained its 1970's look with some added art.

True, hopefully in years time (I'd say at least 15 years), 4th Avenue local stations would needed rehabilitation, and at that time the original tile could be restored.

Maybe in 15 years, but they seem to be holding up very well. They don't have missing tiles or water damage all over the place. They are doing better then some of the newer stations (Parsons-Archer). They are very ugly but still work. Canal Street on the (N)(Q), the express stop had been rehabed in the 70's but was redone during Manhattan Bridge work and it looks awful on the n/b end of the station and that was only done at most 12 years ago.

Regarding CPW, 81th Street doesn't need a rehab. It should have ADA access though, like elevators to the street and a ramp to the museum.

By the way, judging by the state of it, does West 4th need a renovation of its own kind? The recent renovation it got was merely adding escalators and elevators and the tactile strip. The tiles are not in the best condition, in fact it reminds me of pre-rehab Jay.

Yeah I cannot comprehend why other stations which are in much better condition get rehabbed, while the worst station in the system isn't touched. Same goes for Bowery.

Chambers is much more justified than Bowery, IMO. A LOT of people use Chambers every day, I don't think they would like the state of affairs there now. They would die to see to a facelift for that station.

81 Street (B)(C) station just got rehab not to long ago. Great artwok at the station on both levels.

42 Street Bryant Park (B)(D)(F)(V)(7) station is in great shape.

All Central Park West stations, in my opinion, look fine to me. The only thing that could be considered a major problem is the occasional dripping water, but then again, what station on (MTA) property doesn't have dripping water? :D
