FlushingExpress Posted February 20, 2009 Share #17 Posted February 20, 2009 Really... does it hurt to ride a R44?? yeah, riding an R42 or R44 is depressing. i had to ride an R44 to the rockaways yesterday and did not enjoy it one bit. on my way back, i caught an R32 and the ride was fantastic. How many "ugly features" or "eyesores" can you list from the subway? Everything can't be perfectly the way you want it. Besides, the R44s have a lot of pros to them. They're fast cars and have proven themselves very reliable after a not-so-great start. They're comfortable and functional subway cars. What more could you ask for? Sure, there are some shortcomings, like the tiny cab doors, the carbon steel instead of stainless steel, and the constant air release, but still. The R44's pros outweigh the cons. MTR Admiralty Posted February 22, 2009 Share #23 Posted February 22, 2009 they are not fast and i hate them all the way. I really see no reason why you hate those cars in general. What is so bad about them that makes you hate them?
FlushingExpress Posted February 22, 2009 Share #24 Posted February 22, 2009 Have you ever taken a ride through the Rockaways? yes, and it sucked. the R32/38s made the Jamaica Bay crossing fun. I really see no reason why you hate those cars in general. What is so bad about them that makes you hate them? i really do not want to repeat myself or be mean again. R44 5278 Posted February 22, 2009 Share #25 Posted February 22, 2009 It's really strange how you like the R68As when they are in fact the slowest. Nevertheless, their stainless steel interiors are filled with scratchitti. It seems like you really favor cars with poor suspension, but somehow the R42s just don't fit that picture.
