Time to Shea Goodbye: The Death of Shea Stadium (56K)

Recommended Posts

Like emmanuel, I took pics of Shea during its demolition. I took pics on the 5th, 6th, and 13th of February. I'll have more pics of the repaving of the ground after break, now that the stadium is gone.

I'm not the only one who took pics. There's a photographer in this pic at the fence, and a lot of bike riders were on Roosevelt Ave. who kept stopping to take pics of history.

Great coverage of the demolition of Shea Stadium, sad to see it go though, and nice extra photos of the buses and subway cars too.

Awww. Sucks to see Shea go. I've only been there twice in my life to see a game. (Mets lost both games B) )

Good pics though.

Thanks! I agree. I've only been inside once back in 2005 to see the Mets. vs. the Reds.

Damn, gone to ashes, Nice pics!

Thanks!

I don't care for baseball, but Citi Field looks more like a ballpark than Shea did.

I agree, it does look nicer than Shea. Sucks that it's smaller.

Out with the old, in with the new!

That Citi Field is looking mighty fine!

I agree!

Sad start, good ending thread...

Nice pixs and vids by the way...

Thanks!

Nice pics~

As nice as Citi Stadium looks, I doubt I'll ever go see the Mets there. I hate that Citi didn't keep the Shea name and the team itself has been disappointing in the last two years.
