metsfan Posted February 24, 2009 Share #51 Posted February 24, 2009 I think the whole line should get since sometimes Express becomes Local and Loacal becomes Express... In that instance T/O would take over. - A

Forest Glen Posted February 24, 2009 Share #53 Posted February 24, 2009 If CBTC is successful on the L, then all those incessant weekend GO's would've been worth it. The MTA is finally entering the new millenium.
Pelham Bay Dave Posted February 24, 2009 Share #54 Posted February 24, 2009 Would it be better to extend the to 179th? No that won't work because that would delay service to 179. Court SQ is the best option right now. The service always gets messed up when operating above Queens Plaza.
Pelham Bay Dave Posted February 24, 2009 Share #55 Posted February 24, 2009 False. When the E and F go CBTC, most likely it will be the Queens Boulevard Line express tracks. So your quoted lines won't be using CBTC, unless the system goes on those lines as well. Your Currect after the they going to put CBTC between Union Turnpike and 179 / Parsons to test how CBTC will deal with the merge. Then the in Brooklyn is next. The new target year for CBTC systerm wide is 2025. Someone could currect me because that info is over a year old.

Amtrak7 Posted February 24, 2009 Share #57 Posted February 24, 2009 Man... 2025? That's a bit too optimistic! Agreed. I'd say 2025 for the entire A Div, 2040 at least for the entire B Div.
Alex L. Posted February 25, 2009 Share #58 Posted February 25, 2009 Perhaps someone on this forum realizes that both systems were supposed to be up and running years ago yet they're still in the testing phase in most locations. The people who signed off on these ideas have retired or been sent to the boondocks of land so they won't be heard from again. This technology may be the future of rapid transit but it's not ready for prime time in the Big Apple yet. Just my two cents. Gee... I hope you didn't think that I was saying ATS actually works. After 18 months of seeing some of the amazing stuff that ATS is actually capable of doing, it scares me.
