metsfan Posted February 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2009 Anyone want to go to atlantic city via ACES or (NJT) + + (NJT)? If we do this i could book the trip a few weeks before at NYP with whoever wants to go. Online booking is limited to 8 people at a time, so that would require me to collect $ and book 8 people at a time. That could work better if it's like 25 people, but i want to get at least 50. I would like to try to get a plan finalized by the end of april with itinerary. As far as payment is concerned, whoever can pitch in more, can help those who can't put up as much. Any thoughts? - A
Smoot178 Posted February 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 22, 2009 I might want to but I doubt I'm old enough to enter the gambling areas.
metsfan Posted February 22, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted February 22, 2009 I might want to but I doubt I'm old enough to enter the gambling areas. Most of the trip would be the train ride. It wouldn't be inside the casinos, the boardwalk is amazing, has many shops restaurants etc etc. - A
metsfan Posted February 22, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted February 22, 2009 Just found THIS! http://www.njtransit.com/ti/ti_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=GroupTravelTo Perhaps this would be better on a weekday when there are more trains, to take a train from NYP to trenton, then hop on to 30th st, then catch (NJT):ac: to atlantic city? I'll look for some prices. - A

Forest Glen Posted February 23, 2009 Share #8 Posted February 23, 2009 I'm broke. I can barely afford to pay student loans. I will eventually ride ACES but not this year.
Amtrak7 Posted February 23, 2009 Share #9 Posted February 23, 2009 If it's ACES, I'm not going. I don't think we should railfan an expensive train, since what's the purpose of it? Getting pictures of ACES should be included, but not the train itself.

Amtrak7 Posted February 26, 2009 Share #13 Posted February 26, 2009 Why Atlantic City anyway? What is luring you there? Try to do this on a weekend to reduce crowding A better trip would be: Start at NYP to WTC PATH to Exchange Place HBLR to EITHER Tonnelle Av. or Bayonne and back to HOB Railfan Hoboken :mb: to Secaucus Railfan Secaucus :nec: to Elizabeth Railfan Elizabeth :nec: to NYP. I hear you, however this is an excursion trip not 100% railfanning trip, like a "lets all get together and do something fun". Yes railfaning will be part of it, but i expect to go swimming etc. The :ac: is unique in that it operates from philadelphia, and is largely scenic, with interesting locomotives usually not assigned to newark or hoboken divisions. - A
