Due to FDNY, M9/M15/M22 Affected- Little Mistake

Due to Fire Department of NY activity in the vicinity of Madison Avenue between Saint James Place and Catherine Street the following buses are detoured:

 

M15 Southbound-regular route via Madison, left on Catherine Street, right on South Street, right on Robert F. Wagner Place, left on Saint James Place, then regular route.

 

M15 Northbound-regular route via Pearl St, right on Robert F. Wagner Place , left on South Street, left on Pike Street, then regular route.

 

M9 and M22 Eastbound-regular route via Pearl Street, right on Robert F. Wagner Place, left on South Street, left on Pike Street, right on Madison Avenue, then regular route.

 

Please expect delays in service on the M15. M9 and M22 at this time.

Now I remember that because I was on the M15 this morning going to school and the driver made a sharp turn at the Brooklyn Bridge. At first I didn't know why, but then I saw like 30 fire trucks and ambulances.

This incident was due to a fire at 32 St James Place, a tenement. Fire broke out at 3 AM. Fires were burning till 8 AM, when the FDNY reported that it was under control. 2 people died and dozens were injured. All of the residents were displaced to a community centre nearby. The reasons why it took that long to put out the fire were cold temperatures and high winds. The water came out as ice and the winds were spreading fires.

 

The fires had reached 4 alarms by 8 AM.
