UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #102 Posted April 14, 2009 It JUST happened not too long ago. Let me guess, something by either Wright, or Delgado?
7LineFan Posted April 14, 2009 Share #103 Posted April 14, 2009 Let me guess, something by either Wright, or Delgado? Wright. Feliciano balked in the go-ahead run just now. 6-5 Padres. Also, 10-2 Yankees. Doesn't look like we're gonna come back from this one, unless we have another magical 13 run inning like we did against the Devil Rays a few years back, twice. UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #104 Posted April 14, 2009 10-2, Rays, Carlos Pena, the hero, even I'm rooting for him, RBIs by a HR from Swisher, and single by Cabrera, Swisher has to be the 4th or 5th hitter, not the third.
UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #105 Posted April 14, 2009 12-2, Rays, that's it, I'm rooting for the Rays for the rest of the night. No. 300 HR for Dye and Knoercko on CHW, back-to-back.
7LineFan Posted April 14, 2009 Share #106 Posted April 14, 2009 Nick Swisher has a 0.00 ERA... Mets lose 6-5, Yankees lose 15-5. I can see the back page now... "Spoiled and Spanked"

PATCOman Posted April 14, 2009 Share #108 Posted April 14, 2009 RIP Harry Kalas 1936-2009. You will be really missed. Out of the next 44 games (including todays) 12 of them are against the pesky Nats. Oh, Nats 3rd baseman Ryan Zimmerman was born a day before me. UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #109 Posted April 14, 2009 I wish Dish Network would stop playing stupid and put the YES Network on and YES HD! Nick Swisher was the most effective pitcher, having the ability to pitch a low-pitch count inning. Most entertaining part of the night!
Homeslice Posted April 14, 2009 Share #110 Posted April 14, 2009 Wow, that was SUCH a horrible game for us....I can't believe the pitchers were so bad that we had to bring in Swisher to pitch for us - and that he was the best pitcher of the night. I couldn't bear to watch such a beatdown at the hands of the Rays.
UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #111 Posted April 14, 2009 At least we got Teixiera back, because there's a right hander on the mound, and Burnett is pitching for us. If I was Giraudi, I would rest Matsui because he is trying less than Ransom, and I bet he just wants the Yanks to eat his contract. Swisher should be playing everyday for us. Homeslice Posted April 14, 2009 Share #112 Posted April 14, 2009 Swisher is good, and I agree he should be a regular in our lineup. I predict that we're going to have to make some BIG trades before the trade deadline this year, get rid of some of the problems infesting us. UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #113 Posted April 14, 2009 I hope Wang is not the next Phil Hughes, or else he'll get traded, but his trade value will still be pretty high.
Homeslice Posted April 14, 2009 Share #114 Posted April 14, 2009 We should've traded Hughes AND Kennedy a LONG time ago. At this point, I'd throw Wang into the deal if we could get some better pitching out of the whole thing. And we need more for our bullpen too. UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #115 Posted April 14, 2009 I would give Hughes another chance. For me, a good trade option would be trading Kennedy, Wang, and Cabrera, for a top prospect like Cameron Maybin, perhaps, bring up Hughes to the rotation. Homeslice Posted April 14, 2009 Share #116 Posted April 14, 2009 Hughes IMO had his chance last year and completely blew it. Though he was hurt too, so okay, maybe ONE more chance. But not another one for Kennedy. He's crap. And I think Melky should've gone too. We should've traded Melky to the Brewers for Mike Cameron, even if Mike's up there in age, he's still got something. UlmerPark B6 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #117 Posted April 14, 2009 Hughes was lights out in his last start in August against the Angels, but wound up with a no decision, and he is a potential.
Homeslice Posted April 15, 2009 Share #118 Posted April 15, 2009 5 innings in so far, no-hitter by Burnett. This is good stuff, guys.
Homeslice Posted April 15, 2009 Share #119 Posted April 15, 2009 Aaaaargh. No-hitter broken up in 7th, and the Rays tied the game. Noooooooo.
UlmerPark B6 Posted April 15, 2009 Share #120 Posted April 15, 2009 7-2, Yanks, HR by Jeter!
UlmerPark B6 Posted April 15, 2009 Share #121 Posted April 15, 2009 Yankees win, Burnett (2-0), with 8Ks, almost a no-hitter, the guys who came through were Swisher, Jeter, and Gardner, Garza pitched great, 9K, but no-decision was charged against him. R68 Subway Car Posted April 15, 2009 Share #122 Posted April 15, 2009 That three run HR by Jeter was the best HR I have seen in a while!!!
Guest Charles Posted April 15, 2009 Share #123 Posted April 15, 2009 Something is wrong with Chien-Ming Wang and it needs to be fixed immediately. He should be a great pitcher.
Homeslice Posted April 15, 2009 Share #124 Posted April 15, 2009 He really should. He just hasn't been the same since tearing his foot in Houston back in June (it really spoiled the excitement of a 13-0 blowout against the Astros that day).
