No, the bridge is going to be replaced. If it has provisions for light rail, HBLR will use it, if (NJT) doesnt want to do that, then (MTA) will operate the train over to the NJ side. I have a feeling they will figure it all out.

They already have plans for a replacement bridge, didn't they? It was pretty recent. And supposedly that bridge will have provisions for future rail service.

i see the plan but what about the abandoned west shore branch as well?

 

You got 2-3 bridges needing replacement, wait till we see what rail options will work for those before finalizing SI plans.
