mark1447 685 Posted March 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 2, 2009 I think there is a problem in Jamaica yd, or possiablie trying to lay up trains?
Amtrak7 427 Posted March 2, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 2, 2009 Probably work on the local tracks at 71 Av. or the Jamaica YD leads. Keep in mind the is the only local train on QB on the weekend. IIRC, only the express tracks can run to east of 71 Av.

IIRC, only the express tracks can run to east of 71 Av. The local tracks are also directly accessible to the local tracks at 75 Av and beyond. I think trains use this set of tracks late nights. To get to the yards, turn around, or wait for the signal, trains use an extra set of tracks east of the Continental Av station that dips down. There are 6 tracks east of Continental. A train does not need to be on the express track to continue past 71 Av

Pelham Bay Dave 124 Posted March 2, 2009 Share #11 Posted March 2, 2009 Here is what is REALLY going on. They are starting to chip out the Uptown Express track between Grand Ave and Woodheaven Blvd Lines. As a result for at least for the next 4 OR more Weeks Daily Lines will reduce trains during Rush Hours do to the Slow speed order that will be in effect. Not a big reduction just 2 trains off each line on the AM and PM rush Hour to reduce conjustion on the uptown(E) Service. Weekend the Uptown Express and Downtown Express tracks will be out of service all will make local stops between Rooservelt and 71 AV. So in order to keep conjustion at a min service will continue to 179 St.

Pelham Bay Dave 124 Posted March 4, 2009 Share #14 Posted March 4, 2009 I am sure they do. When I'm on the with R160's since they love giving me the train been rerouted twice and the program was there. I was rerouted Via 5 AV to 2AV Via 53 and via 63/6 av to 2 AV.
