Probably work on the local tracks at 71 Av. or the Jamaica YD leads.

Keep in mind the (R) is the only local train on QB on the weekend. IIRC, only the express tracks can run to east of 71 Av.

The local tracks are also directly accessible to the local tracks at 75 Av and beyond. I think (E) trains use this set of tracks late nights. To get to the yards, turn around, or wait for the signal, trains use an extra set of tracks east of the Continental Av station that dips down. There are 6 tracks east of Continental.

Yes that's correct, after 71 Av there's a switch for the local and the express tracks to get onto a track that dips down and goes to the yards. A train does not need to be on the express track to continue past 71 Av

Yup, that is correct. Bare in mind that the F uses a switch just west of 75th Avenue that enables it to go from express to local, vice versa.

Trains extended to 179 St (F) Station

Weekend, 12:30 AM Sat to 5 AM Mon, Mar 7 - 9

(R) trains will run local on the between 71-Continental Avs and 179 St.

That is also going to happen the next weekend as well as the E and F running local from 71st to Roosevelt both ways those 2 weekends as well!

Here is what is REALLY going on. They are starting to chip out the Uptown Express track between Grand Ave and Woodheaven Blvd (E)(F) Lines. As a result for at least for the next 4 OR more Weeks Daily (E)(F)(R)(V) Lines will reduce trains during Rush Hours do to the Slow speed order that will be in effect. Not a big reduction just 2 trains off each line on the AM and PM rush Hour to reduce conjustion on the uptown(E)(F) Service.

Weekend the Uptown Express and Downtown Express tracks will be out of service all (E)(F)(R) will make local stops between Rooservelt and 71 AV. So in order to keep conjustion at a min (R) service will continue to 179 St.

I wonder what R160 announcement will be like when (R) goes via Hillside Av (F)?

Will R160 will most likely say?

This is Jamaica-179th St-bound (R) local via (F) line. Next stop is Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike.

This is Manhattan-bound (R) local via (F) line. Next stop is 71st Av-Forest Hills.
