NJT NJT 4021(PL42-AC) on a freight train.

Just stumbled upon a pic of 4021 PL42-AC in a freight consist behind 2 NS locos.

The pic was apparently taken in Phillipsburg, NJ on 5/9/06.

They do that with the MBTA engines here often. They put them on CSX and Guilford Rail consist. Usually when you see passenger locomotives on freight trains, the passenger service bought a space. When they do it up here, it usually means it is going to/coming from the engine shops or paint facilities.

That can only mean a few things, the loco is being delievered, or its being taken back to its manufacturer to repair something, in the case of that pic, NJT couldn't fix themselves.
