Maserati7200 Posted March 22, 2009 Share #28 Posted March 22, 2009 As a general rule of thumb, crosstown buses travel much more slower than the avenue buses. The M57 and M66 (the M66 goes through central park) are both crosstowns. Both of which i take are faster than the M96 as described here.
R10 2952 Posted March 22, 2009 Share #29 Posted March 22, 2009 The M79 was a very bad experience for me, when I would sometimes take it to/from the middle school that I used to go to. The quickest bus I ever knew was the Q67 from 69th Street/Juniper Valley Road to the Hunters Point Avenue station on the 7. The trip took less than 30 minutes and almost crossed half of western Queens LOL! Currently, the worst for me is the Bx10, be it from Bedford Pk Blvd or 231st Street-Bway. Takes forever to load on 231st, with people always running from arriving trains (why doesn't the bus driver just close the doors?). Also, sometimes it looks more like Acess-A-Ride than a NYC Transit Bus. The worst bus ride, though, would be in the large city of Lublin, in southeastern Poland, where my mother's family lives... Picture a loud (you can hear it from a kilometer away), crowded, 20-something year-old Eastern European bus pulling away from a bus stop, leaving large trails of dark grey smoke behind... Not a pretty sight.
