Do you really know your subway signs?

That's an old 8 car stop marker, the last ones that I had seen were on the Nassau St Line not a couple years ago. The R was for R-series cars (R1, R4, R16, etc.) as opposed to standards and triplexes which used different stop car markers.

That is 1000% correct. Do they still show them to T/Os in school car or is the signs way too old. Do you know what the sign that they used for Standard's looked like, I don't think I have ever seen one.
