Blackmanor1000 0 Posted March 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2009 I've noticed recently that the conductors, when the train stops, they like stick their index finger out or something (as if they were pointing at something) then open the doors. What exactly are they doing and why?
SevenEleven 3,054 Posted March 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2009 They're looking for the conductor's board. They have to have it in plain sight in order to open the doors.
Y2Julio 206 Posted March 21, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 21, 2009 It is a rule that is given to them from School Car. They must point to the C/R board to acknowledge that they've seen the C/R board before opening the doors. Those that don't do it could be written up if a TSS were to see them. INDman 414 Posted March 21, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 21, 2009 I have been told by some, that in crew room bathroom they have/had C/R boards of the urinals. If you ever stand near the C/R board and wait for a trains to come in and you kinds look like a TSS (black pants, shirt and tie, jacket and maybe a clips board) you will see some C/Rs be more exact when pointing to the board. Smoot178 0 Posted March 21, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 21, 2009 Next question: What's a C/R board?
Y2Julio 206 Posted March 21, 2009 Share #6 Posted March 21, 2009 Next question: What's a C/R board? It's this sign. It's located in the area where the C/R should be to indicate that the train is in the correct position and it's ok to open the doors.
FlushingExpress 2 Posted March 22, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 22, 2009 i use those conductor boards as a guide to know where i should be if i want a record a video in the middle of the platform, like these below: recording videos in the middle is quite enjoyable, unlike everyone else here, who always records at the platform ends. SevenEleven 3,054 Posted March 22, 2009 Share #8 Posted March 22, 2009 Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Danger hiptop 4.7; U; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050920) recording videos in the middle is quite enjoyable, unlike everyone else here, who always records at the platform ends. Opinionated much? Anyways, the C/R board does indicate the middle of the train provided you're at the right board.
RokuSix 3 Posted March 22, 2009 Share #9 Posted March 22, 2009 I'd leave the C/R boards to the C/Rs. It's okay to be a little off-centre for fanning purposes, but not for service.
