trainspot12 Posted April 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 4, 2009 (A little off-topic) I keep on forgetting that you'll have the spring break April 8-17. Our school had Spring Break March 13-31. That would be great, you should also railfan on the and as well. But this route is great anyway.

MTR Admiralty Posted April 4, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 4, 2009 Nice iten, I might do a little CPW over the spring break. But most likely I'll be venturing in Queens. Hope we bump into each other at a random station! Ha.
Amtrak7 Posted April 4, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 4, 2009 My spring break is from April 9 through April 21. The Bronx is hard to railfan if your mission is to ride on every line, since it is all north-south. For all lines (trackage-wise), here is a plan: Start: 145 St./St. Nicholas to 205 to 161 to Woodlawn to 149/Grand Conc. to 241 to E180 to Dyre to 125 to Pelham Bay to 125 Bx15 to 125 to 242 End from there. It is long, though.
MTR Admiralty Posted April 4, 2009 Share #7 Posted April 4, 2009 Aside from the NYCS, I'm thinking about a trip into New Jersey, PATH included.
Amtrak7 Posted April 4, 2009 Share #8 Posted April 4, 2009 Aside from the NYCS, I'm thinking about a trip into New Jersey, PATH included. Here's a plan that covers all of the well-known NJ railfan locations: PATH to Hoboken Railfan Hoboken PATH to Newark :nec:to Elizabeth Railfan Elizabeth :nec:to Princeton Jct. Railfan Princeton Jct. :nec:to NYP. The good part about this is that you can remove some parts of it without severely affecting the other parts' feasibility. I was considering once PATH from WTC to NWK. Then NEC to Trenton. Walk to the RiverLine, ride it to Camden (Walter Rand), walk to PATCO. Ride PATCO to Philly. Railfan inside Philly. Get out using SEPTA R7 to Trenton and NEC to NWK and PATH back.

MTR Admiralty Posted April 8, 2009 Share #15 Posted April 8, 2009 nah I'm doing lines I barely or never take pics of I know, but it acts as a short cut, because the 1 could be a wee bit long. And man, you HAVE to do the IRT expresses in the Bronx.
