kaback9 Posted April 18, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 18, 2009 I get tired of photographing trains in New Jersey sometimes, so yesterday I decided since it was a gorgeous day to head on down to R7 land, and photograph the NEC down there. Here are the Amtrak photos, will post SEPTA stuff in SEPTA forum. Also included in here is the stuff I shot while waiting for NJT in Trenton. http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569170 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569171 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569172 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569174 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569178 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569182 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569184 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569187 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569192 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569202 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569207 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569209 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569211 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569215 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569218 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569221 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569227 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569228 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569232 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569233 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569234 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569236 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569237 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569240 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569241 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569246 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569247 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569248 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569250 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569251 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569253 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569259 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569262 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569263 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569273 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569277 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569281 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569284 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569288 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569302 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569303 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569307 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569308 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569310 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569311 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569312 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569314 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569316 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569325 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569332 http://kaback9.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1569333 Enjoy! kaback9 Posted April 20, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted April 20, 2009 Nice pics! Thank you! You caught the loco and one of the single silverliner units! - A Thank you! I know! I saw the Silverliner coming and heard a noise coming from track 2 and then saw the Acela rounding the curve, I started praying the shot would come out at that point! Luckily it did . Windy Posted May 19, 2009 Share #5 Posted May 19, 2009 What camera do you use? This spot at Bristol looks to be a much nicer spot than here: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9309 (I have no idea where this is as there are no captions, sorry for the vagueness of the post). Do any diesels run along this line or is it all electric?
kaback9 Posted May 19, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted May 19, 2009 As of now I'm shoot with a Nikon E8700 until I decide on my new DSLR. I'm picky about camera's so its been an ongoing process. The set you linked were shot at Jersey Ave in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I prefer that spot as its closer and NJ Transit runs there and does run Diesel sets from Atlantic City on the weekend. As for Bristol, its another favorite spot. There are diesels in the form of Freight power plus the NJT ACES trains P40 plus on weekends NJT Atlantic City to MMC moves. Dre Day Posted May 19, 2009 Share #7 Posted May 19, 2009 What time did you shoot these photos at Bristol? Around 3:30p or so train 161 took a young female off of track 3. Very sad and the remains were just ungodly to look at. What really bother me was people that were driving on Highway 13 could see the body on the engine because the street runs right next to the tracks. Windy Posted May 20, 2009 Share #10 Posted May 20, 2009 My current camera fleet includes 2 35mm film bodies (Nikon F70 and F80) and 2 digital bodies, (D300 and D80 - withdrawn). All have blessed me with published photos (mostly non-transport related), so if it is good enough for the discerning magazine editor, then it's good enough for me I generally do work for a wedding dress maker, sports, some motor racing, and a whole lot of random stuff, with a preference for night photography. R44 5278 Posted May 23, 2009 Share #11 Posted May 23, 2009 Coolio on the Acelas! Quick question I've been notcing that it's over 90 days and the Acela trainsets are still running with the front pantographs on each power cars. Did the "saving the wire vs wear/tear" test come out positive and are they using that from now on?
